Well, shit. We finally find out what happens if the Maidens try to leave the island. Groundhog Day happens. At least it’s not Endless Eight! But seriously, they weren’t joking when Wako said they can’t leave the island. Literally.

Of course, aside from the Groundhog Day effect, the other big question this week comes back to the question of the existence of Marimo. A lot has been speculated since the previous episode with Ayingott’s eyes, and I find it hard to believe that she is an imaginary existence, but a lot of the clues are pointing other wise. For example, how their Mom only calls out to Mizuno when she returns home. But that said, she’s been quite the active character as well, so it’s nearly impossible to deny her existence without denying EVERYTHING that has happened in the past eight episodes or so far.

What the fuck is this, Umineko? I’m half expecting Takuto to suddenly see golden butterfilies, goat-headed butlers and shit.

My theory is that Marimo’s existence is some kind of first phase power manifested by Mizuno herself that resulted in a splitting of her personality between the “strong” and “carefree” sides, except it actually manifested in a physical form. Marimo’s lines about “illusions that don’t disappear become real” etc etc. Oh god, Enokido. Why you so trollan?! щ(゚Д゚щ)

Hopefully we’ll know the truth next week. Aw man, Keito’s rape face (ಠ_ಠ)

P.S. Wako jelly mode is cute.

well after watching this and few episode, i now kinda blur. i marimo real or just one part of illusion of the west maiden (persona). it seem that the coming episode is interesting, finally get to know the ‘unknown blue tauburn’ and takuto history..

Yeah, I also think that Mizuno’s First Phase is the ability to split herself into two personas. Marino certainly isn’t an illusion since many people interacted with her. Maybe that’s why Ayngott went berserk? Because there wasn’t a real pilot inside.

You didn’t mention the other big revelation of this episode, actually the confirmation that Head is Takuto’s father (he signed the painting with an “R”). According to the preview it seems that he is going to fight his son in the next episode. Will we finally witness Takuto’s first loss? And what will Sugata do?

P.S. Keito is the best girl in the show, period.

And now we know… that this episode has returned us into an endless recursion of time!

So first she finds out that Takuto loves someone else. Ouch. Then her mother returns. Then it’s Groundhog day.

You know, I love it when horrible, horrible.things happen to innocent, little girls in my light-hearted series. Of course, it only works the first time, when you don’t know just how far the writer is willing to take it.

So, yeah. Favorite episode so far. I know no one’s gonna die but I still enjoyed the panicked and helpless reactions like you wouldn’t believe.

It would be nice if there were some weird thing going on where Head was really Takuto’s father using some age reversing first phase… except we’ve already seen Head’s first phase in episode 1 (he can manifest a giant star sword) so that is out of the question.

It could just be that Head is a student of Takuto’s father though it still seems a bit odd that he would copy the exact method of signing the painting with the R.

To think that my guess is right. Choosing Mizuno also get Marino. now this even better than Mc.Donald Happy Meal.

What I expect is Mizuno and Marino fusing together and becoming whole. And then we got ourselves a person who is both strong and carefree.

Also I want to say that Head may just be Takuto’s brother that he didn’t know about but that may just be stretching it.

I’ve got it! The first phase of the Ginga Bishounen is to actually being a pretty boy hence Takuto and his father have the ability to look young forever. That’s why the head looks like a teenager. To add to that, I propose that their hair color’s also due their first phases.

Or the Head could just be a copycat artist copying a famous painter!!

Repeat it in red! “The Head is related Takuto” !

it was like endless 8 again, except you are aware. DAT ALARM CLOCK.

So the theory is that Mizuno and Marino can gattai?

Only if that gattai is strong enough to counter Wako’s gattai fantasies.
