Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? 01

Kore wa Zombie desu ka?

Zombie Masou-shounen Panty shots right in the first episode? I’m sold.

Honestly I don’t think I’ve laughed this much at a premiere episode as I have with Kore Zombie for the past year or so. Everything in this show is just so crazy, from the Nanaca Crash parody at the beginning to the ruined for marriage part at the end. Not to mention chainsaw wielding Masou Shoujo’s and cute netherworld necromancers getting thrown in to the mix.

It’s mostly mish-mash but somehow manages to work together and if this keeps on, we might have a winner, albeit DEEN and adaptation negative factors might drag it down later. At least it’s not Chiaki Kon in the director’s seat.

Anyways, Yuu is cute. I don’t mind watching her drink tea and eat snacks for the whole episode.

Kore wa Zombie desu ka?

P.S. Holy crap, Dyson Air Multipliers at Ayumu’s house!!

The Dyson Air Multiplier: the hallmark of the wealthy hedonist. No dirty peasant fan blades pushing the cold, unfeeling air against your skin, no siree bob!

This show has the potential to reach the levels of Seto no Hanayome…

Yuu is indeed cute, I would say she’s the reason I watch the show but honestly I watch it because it’s hilarious. I hope the quality doesn’t drop in future episodes.

Oh, so that’s what it was…what a cool looking fan. Oh, pardon me, air multiplier.

If this even reaches 60 percent of Seto no Hanayome I will be thrilled. That is a very high bar you’re setting there, Dakkar.

Sure, but this show is based on novels, and in novels you can expect some quality dialogue and coherent storytelling… hopefully. Judging from this episode, it has a colorful cast of characters and is capable of delivering enough gags in concise manner. Whether it gets repetitive or not is something we’ve yet to see, and having DEEN in charge doesn’t help to ease my worries, but the potential is there :)

@bluemonq: I’ve experienced the jetstream coming from one of those things before, they are pretty cool.

@Dakkar: Lol no way. Not if it doesn’t have yodelling and singing!

Hey, but it has vampire ninjas! Well, yeah, SnH is a hard to reach target, but I want to be optimistic during that brief time before DEEN proves its reputation :)

Meh, main character is a Hayate wannabe. Yuu on the other part is pure win.

Well, DEEN also has done Seitokai no Ichizon.

In both cases, I LOVE THE HERO! I mean, after the end of this episode he is an Ordinary Highschool Student Chainsaw-wielding Crossdressing Masou Shoujo Fist-of-the-north-Star-like-fightstyle-user Zombie.

How can I NOT love this?

I can tell you why this show won’t fail. It’s because DEEN actually has a budget now thanks to all that money they got from product placement. Every 10 otakus that purchase a DYSON is enough to fund an entire episode, which is of course excluding all the initial budget allocation they had to begin with. There is simply no room for them to fail.

Although I laughed so hard I fell off my chair for most of the premier I have to say the ending plot twist hit me like a brick wall. My eyes melted. What it has going for it is a fairly delicate balance that can make the difference between a truly enjoyable multi-genre parody and a complete disaster. Only time will tell I suppose.

Not the Dyson, it’s a prototype of the original Japanese design! =P
