The Idolmaster God Only Knows

The World God Only Knows

And the Kanon arc is finally over.

Frankly, I felt they stretched it a bit too long for its own good, especially by adapting a 20-page chapter in to one single episode, but I guess this episode made up a little for it. Even though it was mostly recycled footages, montages and music videos. I still think they didn’t really need to bring up that CITRON angle so much though, it was practically non-existent in the manga.

On the other hand, Nao Toyama’s surprisingly decent at singing despite being quite a new appearance on the scene. Somehow, she reminds me of Hanazawa Kana somewhat too. I can’t pinpoint why.

So, next week is probably one of the filler chapters, though I’m not sure which one is going to be used since they jumbled up the positioning of the chapters from the manga somewhat.

After that, it’s the librarian, Shiori’s arc, with Kana-tan as the heroine this time!

By the title, the next episode should be the one where Elsie cooks Keima a cake and hilarity, as it is often wont to do, ensues. It was told twice, once from Keima’s perspective, and once from Elsie’s, in the manga (chapters 11 and 12). Since the title adds a few “with”s to the title of chapter 12, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the perspective focus broadened a bit.

My take on the extra attention was that they were building on Kanon so much to set up Apollo’s appearance later on.

What? How many episodes is this gonna be? Apollo’s appearance? Unless this is BONES and they are doing it for a full year I doubt so.

@quigon: oh right, the cake episode, I thought that was already done.

@the rest: It looks like the anime will go up to the Nagase and Haqua arcs, in the second season. Tenri arc will be a long way to go…

I was also expecting the Kanon arc to be two episodes, but I am guessing somewhere in the company (producer, script writer, director) just ended up being a Kanon fan to give this much extra attention to the arc.

I mean, they even gave her four songs and her own concert (which I really expected to be just a short clip in conclusion, not 1/4 an episode).

I liked it though. The extras were a pleasant surprise. ^_^

Not bad arc, but at that pace this anime won’t cover all the girls from the manga.

I believe they are going for 4 girls per season. You can find out from the OP. o_o

unless Keima is a demon adopted into human family, there is zero chance of wincest with Elsie :P

Sadly, the details are not as clear in the anime so you might’ve missed it. Elsie just used a fake letter from her demon boss to make Keima’s mother believe that she is an illegitimate daughter of her husband. They are in no way related since she’s a demon from hell, but hey, weirder plot twists have happened.

It’s faintly hinted that Elsie likes Keima and there should be one show about a ‘sister route’ that Keima goes through but it really doesn’t amount to much significance in the manga… at least up until the present.

Well, Daddy Katsuragi’s conveniently missing all the time. There is room for that plot twist www.

It had to happen I guess… episode 8 with Elsie and her cake and the two alternating points of view… failed so bad. I feel like I was trolled after watching it. It could have been awesome… but the sauce… it was weak. T^T

If you liked how it turned out in the manga, you can go ahead and skip episode 8 to preserve your good memories.
