Negima! 306

Negima!

Oh boy, Dark Negi fully powered mode.

Negima!

Negima!

Proceeding to lay the smackdown on Dynamis….

Negima!

Whoa, black version of the Titanoktonon.

Negima!

And even black Khiliplen Astrapen.

Negima!

I gotta love Dynamis’s snarky little “so hot” comments. Even though Homura’s desperately protecting him and all.

Negima!

Oh shi– Shiori! Goddamnit cliffhangers.

On the bright side, well, it’s not “research break” week yet!

So well, demon Negi mode really unleashes the full extent of his powers… and maybe not yet at all too! Still, this was totally to be expected after all, but I’m just a little surprised they didn’t do it while versus Fate. I guess Akamatsu wants that final battle between Negi and Fate to be a clean, classic “light vs dark” one and it wouldn’t do if Negi shows his dark side there!

Surprised to note that there hasn’t been a single cameo of Setsuna throughout the chapter, even though the rest of Team Negi in the building was shown to notice his dark side’s aura emerging. I guess she must be finally indulging Tsukoyomi’s perverted interests in a closet with her somewhere!

Oh, and another interesting thing to note is how Dynamis states that Magia Erebea is similar to a skill his master (the Lifemaker) guy uses. Any connection with Evangeline I wonder? Should be in there, somewhere. Oh well, I guess we’ll see.

    i really hate Negima cliffhangers…
and lol 俺のブログがこんなに持てるわけがない (i didn’t see it before)
i already like Shiori… more than some girls that had been there since the beginning xDuu
    Negi techniques are truly amazing…
i mean, when did all this happen?
i still remember when he was only able to shoot 100 arrows or something like that….
i really thought that Negi wasn’t going to fight against Dynamis…
at least i thought he would be able to defeat without great effort…

you know… anyone else gettign just a little tired of negi winning all the time? idk, negis dark mode this chapter was great, just like the dark mode he used before on kurt… and during his traning with eva, etc. i just thought maybe dynamis would be a chance for kaede or someone else to show their stuff, not another curb stomp for negi… also, question for the class, when dynamis is saying “so hot” and the other remark to homura, what is he talking about? the flames, or…

    @ takashid

Well, it was shown in chapter 303 that for example Fate´s minions could have beaten him if he fought alone. So he is not undefeatable…

PS: Found the perfect background music for this chapter…

There was a discussion in the Negima club on MyAnimeList on that last comment, and the leading theory is that the Lifemaker and Evangeline could both have learned to control their own darkness somewhat, but Evangeline developed it further into Magica Erebea during the time she was weak, thus the similarity to whatever Lifemaker thought up.

Geez, Negi doesn’t win *all the time*. He loses quite a few times by himself and usually only wins after tons of help and preparation. Hell, he’s probably one of the hardest working shounen manga protagonists.

Besides, as much as we’d like it happen, this manga isn’t called Mahou Ningyo Fate. So yeah, Negi’s going to “win” in the end, what matters are the consequences and the journey towards it.

And here I´m wondering if the Fate´s minions would enlist in 3-A for the second semester…

The suggestion music goes well with the fight, a really good chapter to go animated…

    see ya
