Katanagatari 08

Katanagatari

I must’ve missed the memo stating WHITE FOX is part of Sunrise. ALIPRO OP following Minami Kuribayashi… pretty much quite a Sunrise trademark now. Not to mention the slightly spoiler-tastic OP featuring some cool juxtaposition shots of the protagonists vs the antagonists that is highly likely not going to be used in the main show… yeah, pretty much Sunrise.

Katanagatari

Episode 8 is really showcasing the closeness of Shichika and Togame. Which kinda leads to one of the funniest scenes of the show to date.

Katanagatari

Emonzaemon’s little grin there just pretty much says it all.

Katanagatari

Gotta love Shichika’s “what, you got a problem with me having scored big?” face juxtaposed against Togame “Oh shit there goes the gossip” face.

But really once you leave these two lovebirds together is when the problem starts….

Katanagatari

From full-scale tickling….

Katanagatari

…. to pulling all-nighters. Oh man, get a room guys! Oh, wait…. (ಠ益ಠ)

Katanagatari

But the real show-stealer this month is Princess Hitei, coming in front and center this episode to step into the antagonist role fully.

Katanagatari

Seriously, Tomatsu Haruka’s rendition of her is just dripping with the right amount of malice mixed with royal arrogance and laced with liberal amounts of confidence like no other. Really makes me wish Tomatsu would do more evil roles. God damn, that Hitei-hime voice is just seriously something I would make love to.

This episode also marks a cathartic makeover for Shichika too, as by fighting against Biyorigou a.k.a Bitou Kanzashi, he’s truly awakened up to his human side, emotions, free will and whatnot. It’s a noticeable difference from the earlier Shichika which rarely said things and merely killed whoever standing in the way with almost zero emotions apart from occasional bewilderment and curiosity.

No preview this month surprisingly. I wonder if it was forgotten or intentionally left out.

    Imagine, if she wasn’t wearing so much in this scene. The WAKI-exposure would have crushed my nutbladder

    Not to mention Shichika making fun of Togame’s house. That just had me smiling so much.
    Totally smitten by Hitei-Hime Haruka-chan from way back the first time she showed up. Love her voice.

    Definitely makes up for not posting her thighs last episode.

    I thought the direction of this episode was rather different (not bad) It was because it was full of characterization: Hiteihime, Emonzaemon, Shichika’s human/sword philosophy, even the doll had alittle.

    I liked the small detail on the European clock in the junkyard. It shows how Kiki was able to make such advanced technology (Byorigou) after seeing something a much more simple base concept.

    We get Zanki next ep. My love of black haired bishoujo knows no bounds.

    @Avisch: Yes yes, I apologize for missing out on her thighs last month, but I swear, I couldn’t find the shot anywhere!

    @SnooSnoo: Yeah, I know man.

    @Avisch:I totally agree with you about this episode.And how they basically confirmed that one of the swords is a pair of guns.PUT YA GUNS ON.

    @Rockmanshii

    When they began, their were silhouettes or all the “swords” and you can see the guns. clearly.
