Ookami-san and 7 Friends 01

Ookami-san and 7 Friends

The real star of this show is Kuroko Narrator-san.

Ookami-san and 7 Friends

Lol, Neko-Neko Knuckles. I don’t know if that’s cute or just plain weird.

Ookami-san and 7 Friends

You know what this reminds me? Nanaca Crash.

Pretty mediocre beginning episode though, since there was too many characters but too little focus on any of them except for Ookami and Morino. The gags are kinda “Angel Beats!”-level random too, and I had a few great laughs such as during the cranium kick landing scene. Ookami’s Neko Punch is pretty lol too.

The whole fairytale parody concept merits some good laughs though and with Kuroko Narrator-san being so bloody awesome, I am willing to give this a few more weeks to try.

Kuroko is an excellent choice for a Narrator… Almost as good as a certain “Voice of God”…

So i wasn’t going crazy when half expecting a chick with a sword to perform a SPECIAL combo after all :D
Otherwise an interesting episode, although I’m now half hoping there will be some form of a “narrator duel” between Arai satomi and Norio Wakamoto

“…although I’m now half hoping there will be some form of a “narrator duel” between Arai satomi and Norio Wakamoto”

That would be awesome. You wouldn’t even need characters…

If I had heard the narrator say “oneesama” even once, I think I would have died laughing

I don’t know even what to think. It’s too soon, but depending on how it goes -the first episode is always bound to be like this, so I wouldn’t judge a show by its first episode-, it might turn out that the show’s forte becomes Kuroko, I mean Satomi, and not the story itself!

@quigonkenny: Of course they would. What’s a narrator without the main cast to mock?

…I suddenly got a craving for an Ookami-san-hayate no Gotoku crossover, and it’s only the first episode…

Unlike Angel Beats, though, this series has introduced itself as a comedy, without the whole “insert random mystery moment” of the former, so I don’t think we have too worry too much for sudden mood change :D. The dynamics between the main trio seems interesting too: a socially challenged hunter loving a tsundere wolf who is good friends with red riding hood? There goes my childhood :))

Still, what is it with J.C. Staff and flat-chested Shizuka Itou-voiced action tsunderes?

I wish this was narrated by Wakamoto…
    A Kuroko is fine too.

Cranium kick is definitely up there with the rocket chair (Angel Beats) and Fuko Master (Clannad).

    Just a heads up.

This is a show that airs at 9 in the morning.

So yeah, its supposedly a “family friendly show” so don’t expect it to be DEEP.

Any show can become more enjoyable when you include a lemony narrator.

  11. Dude Said,

Despite being the wimp, the dude is a pretty decent shot.

His ability to stay hidden makes him an excellent marksman, fits the whole ‘Hunter’ theme.

So he could watch his lady love’s back and provide ranged support at the same time.

Totally couldn’t tell that Ryouko was voiced by Itou Shizuka until @Nestor mentioned it. Holy shit.

elements railgun, hayate no gotoku and toradora seems to be thrown into this anime.

lazy, jc staff, lazy. Or maybe they’re actually trying to put their successes from previous anime into ookami san…

@Azure: I think it’s more likely that the original novels are just really derivative.

Not that I hate the show, mind.

Just found this site. I find it hilarious that after the “please let me know if any pictures offend you” disclaimer, the first thing you see is a nude women in the shower. You’re a true warrior.

Well, sorry if they couldn’t develop NINE freakin’ characters in 21 minutes…
I am sure we will get to know the rest of the cast in the following episodes.
The first episode was hilarious in many ways, best show of the Summer season so far.

I loved the seen where neko-fist lady punches blondie. The bandage on his opposite cheek drops off to reveal the impressions of both her neko gloves.

Frankly speaking, as a comedy, if it wasn’t the narrator (to an extent) and the parodies, it would have been quite another boring title. But since the show managed to somehow save itself, I’m gonna give it a few more eps to actually draw me in before I turn it off.
