Working!! ends

Working!!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF—————————-

Working!!

My sentiments exactly.

Working!!

Working!!

The real culprits are revealed. Souma and Yamada make a fine combination despite Souma’s misgivings.

Working!!

Holy shit, Matsumoto speaks! After 12 episodes, she finally gets to speak!!

Working!!

….. I don’t know what’s cuter here, the puppies or that extremely happiness-filled looking Kotori-chan.

Working!!

Working!!

Oops, Kotori-chan Katanashi’s true feelings about Inami-chan are revealed.

Working!!

Hurr…. nice save there, Katanashi!

Working!!

Additional points for mind-breaking Inami-chan as well as escaping from getting punched.

Working!!

Ahh… Yamada’s smile is kinda infectious isn’t it.

Working!!

Working!!

…. and life at Wagneria goes on as usual.

The End.

And with that, Working!! ends its fine run. While it had a bit of a rough patch at the start, once they got settled in, the show is consistently the funniest one in the crop of Spring shows, managing to provide both drama and LULZ in fine order without each aspect overwhelming the other.

Only thing I felt needed improvement would be more Poplar screentime, since the focus was mostly towards Takanashi x Inami and Takanashi’s family towards the second half, but the introduction of wildcard Yamada really spiced the show up quite a bit with her antics and perfect timing. Ryou Hirohashi was in fine form last season ;_;.

Liked: Yes, very much.
Rewatch: Definitely, when presented with the chance.

    Remarkably little closure.
Nothing out of the ordinary occurred, but I didn’t really mind. It’s a very easy going show. The only show I didn’t end up dropping this season.
Well FMA was nice as well, but after reading the final manga chapter, I didn’t feel like going back to the anime. Meh.

Anyone familiar with the Working!! manga? I’m pretty sure this warrants a sequel.

So I heard someone telling me that after Takanashi says to Inami “You’re a cute vicious dog!”, she came :O http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/7751/33608662.gif

Grimmer: There are about 8 volumes so far, with the latest one just released this week. The anime took bits and pieces from the first 4 volumes, with bias towards Inami and Takanashi — probably a directing decision, to give the show a ‘central’ subplot amidst the normal Wagnaria wackiness. The Chapters skipped go over the Yachiyo x Jun x Kyouko issue more, as well as reveal just HOW weird Yamada really is.

Just finished writing in the AB post so im gonna give my 2 cents on this aswell.

Great show, inspiring in a sense that it makes you think “if i go to work, then maybe ill meet a cute co-worker” and thus ive become a part of the working force…. seriously…

The series in general seemed to get progressively better, i had hoped for a culmination of sorts (still hoping for this in an ova) where all of the characters have their screen time in an all encompassing grandiose sendoff. Think Seto no Hanayomes last episode, where they brought literally everyone back in (except for Mawari and class rep i believe) and it was marvelous. They sort of provided this with Workings ED aswell (for this show), it felt a bit like, especially since they used the OP, “Dont worry, even tough this season is ending, all of us who made this and all of the characters are still going about our daily lives, were all still working! and were all still happy.”

considering its a show about working, the monotonous open ended ending felt appropriate.

also yamada is awesome and summed up how i feel about the show
    “I´m personally very happy.”

Working!! was a great show. It pulled off excellent comedy without branching into unnecessary fanservice (unless you count Kotori-chan) which is rare these days. Hoping for a second season as this show really deserves it.

Well, dressing him up like a girl reduces the ‘squick’ factor of Souta going moe moe over children and puppies… but the way he fills out that dress is criminal. Mizuho-class criminal. Sorry, Hideyoshi, but Souta’s a better trap than you were. :D

.. also, they upsized his chest for the last ep. Damn those two. But… at the same time, beyond the escaping-the-punch thing, I’m not sure how to feel about how they handled the denial.

It’s rare that I find a show where my favorite character is a guy.
Here’s to hoping that Satou gets Todoroki in the end!

Haess: Chest nothing, Souta had actual HIPS in this episode, which I found hilarious.

  10. Haesslich Said,

Myssa: Given that they took him out of the work uniform, they may have shoved him in a corset… which makes things worse. As in Mizuho-class worse. It’s not Mariya-level yet, but… well, ‘best trap of 2010′ may turn out to be Souta after all, rather than Hideyoshi. EVERYTHING got boosted.

Also, the translation here “I’m done” versus “I’ve lost to him completely” upon seeing the chest… it looks like there are translations with context issues.

Rewound the Yamada + new clothes scene at least 10 times for some reason.

Yamada fills the sweater out surprisingly well. But so did Poplar… and the chest bounce when she got called a kid was hilarious.

my sentiments exactly, especially since Souta seems to begin to realise he likes Inami, despite her being not diminutive and quite violent…

Hm, is it just me, or did Kotori’s assets just got some improvements? Anyway, quite a satisfying ending for a well deserving anime. It really pulls of its genre well, with well timed jokes which just happens to love to help you remember that this is a comedy (for me atleast), and character screen time was more or less quite well done (other than poplar of course). So yeah, probably best comedy of the season, if not, the year.

I didn’t even notice that this was the end of Working!! .. It kinda didn’t feel like it had ended at all. especially with nothing kinda brought to any climax.

.. it ending kinda caught me off guard, I want to know if inami can solve her man-hating problem, and what of Yamada and her family?

I was expecting some kinda of conclusion or well as i said climax, its felt like a regular episode, rather than the end of the series. the only thing ending-esque to the episode was the three of them welcoming the “viewers” i assume to the Wagneria as if signfying that its over.

what confuses me is the “we hope to see you again – thanks for watching”, does that mean theirs another season coming up? or is that a generic ending kinda message.

[...] Kurogane gives this series the high praise of having consistency and balance; earlier on, I would not have disagreed with his cry for MOAR Poplar but, post-Kotori Fascination, I find that Poplar Time for Poplar Cuteness’ sake just doesn’t cut the mustard anymore. Her perpetual cheeriness has actually threatened to make her less interesting so I would love to see more of that darker side of her which ruthlessly uses her cuteness to try to get more of what she wants (i.e. Kotori).
