Evangelion 2.22 breaks 800k preorders

The Nikkan Sports newspaper reports on Tuesday that over 800,000 copies of the DVD and Blu-ray releases of Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha) film have been pre-ordered. The film’s Japanese home video distributor King Records will ship its release on May 26. According to King Records, Evangelion: 2.22′s 800,000 pre-orders far surpasses the 500,000 copies in the first shipment for last year’s hit film, the manga-based live-action Rookies: Graduation (Rookies -Sotsugyō-).

Working!! 05

Working!!

Takanashi-kun! Please survive through this!

Seriously, half of Inami-chan’s wages probably go towards repairing the walls she keeps punching open. And Souma-san should probably be more careful with her too. Lucky for him they haven’t invented a way to punch people over telephone lines, but Inami-chan gets reeeeeeeeeeeeeally close….

And Poplar-chan is so cute this week…

Working!!

“…. Eeiii~~!! Eeiii~~!! Ohhhhh~~!!!” Ahhhh sooooo cuteeeeeeeee~!

I have got to say, it’s been a loooooooong time since such a perfect embodiment of moé appeared for me. Takanashi is really on to something.

Speaking of him, next week’s episode preview says it’ll be focusing on his family of 3 4 sisters. That’ll be interesting to watch.

OreImo Light Novel Gets Anime

Yeah, Anime News Network just reported it.

An anime adaptation of Tsukasa Fushimi’s Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai light novel series has been green-lit. The story follows the daily life of a high school boy named Kyōsuke Kōsaka. Kyōsuke’s younger sister Kirino is a fashion model but also a secret otaku. Fushimi has been writing the light novels since 2008, and the sixth volume is shipping in May.

Not surprising news since the manga just started and a really high quality Drama CD for OreImo also came out recently. It’s quite the quirky series and definitely in the “moé“(shit) niche so it’s not gonna be for everyone.

I do hope they keep the cast from the drama CD, Nakamura Yuichi did a great job in it as the brother and Kana Hanazawa in a rather different type of character than she usually gets was pretty awesome fun. Taketatsu Ayana voices the imouto, by the way.

Let’s just hope a /decent/ production studio gets this job.

UPDATE: Looks like Aniplex is getting the job.

Atsuhiro Iwakami (Kara no Kyoukai – the Garden of sinners, Kannagi, Cencoroll) is producing the anime at Aniplex with publicity producer Yūma Takahashi. The back of the wraparound jacket band on the sixth light novel volume will announce the director, scriptwriter, and animation production studio of the anime.

That’s a relief, I guess?
