Evangelion 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance
Got to tip my hat off the sugoi-ness of Amazon.jp and DHL International Express, my Blu-Ray arrived right on the morning of May 26th even though I am like a whole hemisphere away from Japan!
Pretty much smaller than Evangelion 1.01. No idea how it compares to 1.11 since I didn’t buy it. After carefully cutting open the wrapping plastic, this is what it contains inside…
And finally… for the filmstrip. Of all the scenes… I had to get this…
Oh well, at least it’s better than getting Toji or Kensuke. But why is it out cropped and out of focus!?!! Faulty merchandise?! Can I make a returns claim!?
Goddamnit, I wanted Asuka!!!!!!
Oh. I am now officially broke with 50 ringgit left in the account.

If I could understand Japanese I might have been tempted to do the same. I will buy it once Funimation gets around to releasing it though.
The filmstrip reminds me of an episode of The Simpsons where Bart got a cel from Itchy and Scratchy.
Bart, tries to pawn his cel at the comic store.
Bart: Is this cel worth anything? [gives him cel with arm on it]
Dealer: [looks at it, sighs] Let me show you something. This — this is

i just got my hands on the non-translated subs and have been trying to open them for translating(try my hand at fansubing) but I’ve hit a brick wall on not being able to open them

At least you got a character. My film strip admittedly was of Gendou, except one of the distant scenes when he’s sitting on his desk in his huge office. So yeah, I get a whole bunch of dark, a strip of light and a speck. I though the strip was over exposed when I first opened it. Oh well, cest la vie.

Still waiting for my copy. Unlucky about the film strip you got… I think there were some Japanese fans after Gendou although I don’t know how much they’d pay.
Shinji rescuing Rei seems to be fetching US$450 or so. There’s a list of other strips people got at these sites. Feel sorry for the ones that ended up with the blank transition screens ^^;

Too bad about the strip… But I’ve seen the movie and it is just pure WIN, I can’t get enough of it.
BTW, Kurogane, did you buy a BD player or did you just buy the disc for the strip? :D

Heh. This just makes me wish I could speak, or at least understand Japanese. I’m dying for it to finally come out in the states. At least I’m paying attention this time, 1.01 came out and I didn’t even notice.
