Working!! 03

Working!!

SUMWAN WAN SUMWAN WAN WAN SUMWAN WAN WAN SUMWAN ERUUSSUUU~~

Man, the OP is such an earworm. Keeps looping in my head at random times now. And when it does, I get this image of a mini Poplar army marching about…

Working!!

… makes me kinda want one. Maybe they might release a Nendoroid of this and someone will buy over 9000 of them and remake this scene in real life, haha.

So, why am I talking about the OP? I guess it’s because it’s probably the most notable part of the show. Episode 2 was okay, but episode 3 just felt aimless and rather boring since it felt like they didn’t have a focus for the jokes this time. It was kinda jumping between Yachiyo, Otou-san, Inami and Satou in a way that doesn’t cohesively mesh the jokes together. It wasn’t like episode 1 or 2 where they focused on Takanashi/Poplar and Inami respectively. Well, in deference to the original source I guess there are limitations to how much they can mesh the stories together, but I still felt they could’ve tried better this week.

Let’s hope it’ll be better for episode 4. Also I heard Takanashi has the most amazing older sisters on the planet. Or maybe that was some really crazy hyperbole I heard. Hurr….

P.S. Actually I just want them to put in more Poplar action. Isn’t she the reason the show existed in the first place?

    YES! NEEDZ MOAR POPLAR

Mini Poplar Parade. Doesn’t that remind you of that dream Osaka had when she visited a country full of Mini Chiyos?

Ep 3 is awesome simply because it has implied yuri.

Need a mini army of Poplar and storm the world, and attract all the Minicons around the world

Takanashi had a sister? Maybe ones that showed up at opening.
Opening song looping at my head. Ending song taste like a country.

Whoever said that has an odd definition of amazing. Anyhow, they’re the reason he became fond of small things (and loathes big things)…

I agree, more Poplar is better!

I’d actually have to disagree about the show not quite working because the focus is disconnected. While Working isn’t my absolute favorite show ever, I do find it pretty decent so far. And I would actually say that it’s the fact that it’s jokes aren’t necessarily focused that helps it along.

Perhaps I’m in the minority, but I’m not a huge fan of Inami, despite Inami OBVIOUSLY being Mako-cakes, because… well, she’s a bit of the typical moe girl to me.

However, In small doses like ep 3, I think it works. At this point, everyone has about one joke each. Switching focus between chars prevents that one joke from being repeated too much, especially if the joke doesn’t work.

I mean, would we really want the ENTIRE ep be Poplar going “I’m not small!” or Yachiyo making parfaits for the manager? Throwing monkey wrenches like the GM in there breaks up the monotony.

    To moi anywho.
