Hayate no Gotoku! 260

I wanted to blog this as soon as I came back, but I took a while to get myself mentally prepared for this chapter again. OTOH, Level 5 -Judgelight- was quite a great accompaniment to this chapter.

Hayate no Gotoku!

Hayate no Gotoku!

Hayate no Gotoku!

Hayate no Gotoku!

Hayate no Gotoku!

Hayate no Gotoku!

Hayate no Gotoku!

Hayate no Gotoku!

Hayate no Gotoku!

Hayate no Gotoku!

All I can say is….. “NAMAE WO YONDE!” *sniff* *sniff*

Hayate no Gotoku!

But my tears didn’t truly start until this page. “A hero is someone who can’t show anyone the tears behind the mask.”… HINA-CHAN ウワァァ—–。゚(゚´Д`゚)゚。—–ン!!!!

Hinagiku, your heroic sacrifice will be forever remembered in our hearts.

Well, the real fallout is going to start in the next chapter onwards though. At least the action part’s all over with for now. Let’s see how the story dynamics are going to change from this.

Beautiful chapter in both parts ;)

However – I’m sure it’s no coincidence that Hata made sure that Hayate did not recognize Hina. And that he made so crystal clear how unhappy Hina was. She’s accumulating major karma points here, and for now I remain confident that she will be rewarded in the end.

So let’s see how things develop from now on. There’s one thing which is NOT going to happen, and that’s Hayate deserting Nagi to be with Athena. Let’s see how it’s going to be resolved – Nagi is going to be crestfallen to learn about A-tan.

Best chapter ever! but thats me

So many things can happen from here on, Hata mentioned on his blog that he is making the transition from SRS BSNS DRAMA HnG back into comedy mode HnG on the next couple of chapters, so next chapter I hope we finally get to see what Hayate has to say to Athena.

So many possibilities, however I have a feeling any of these could happen:

    1. Nagi no longer has the right to the Sanzenin state (homes, wealth, etc) so she cant go back to her home in Japan. Alternative? Athena as a sign of gratitude will either
    a) Buy the house from Mikado and give it to Nagi
    b) Make Nagi, Maria, Hayate, and all her crew into one of Athena’s many homes (im sure she has them)

    2. Nagi goes home (for now), Athena stays in Athens for a while (but she’ll return soon and go back to Hakou).

Either way Athena wont be going away, she is here to stay IMO…I mean Hata has already made a nice chibi faced adult Athena which will be sure to be used on comedy chapters soon ^_^

Hata Kenjiro made me change my opinions of many of his characters in lengths of a single chapter in the past, turning Athena from the serie’s drama machine into a lovely comedy character wont be difficult.

Well, Athena discovered the magic words to summon Hayate’s superpowers: call his name and he appears.

However, at this point, dragging A-tan in creates two things:

    1) Conflict with Nagi and others to a degree, given that Athena IS that first girlfriend who he mentioned way back when, and he still has some feelings for her, which she returns.

    2) Because he managed to save her, his heart’s not going to be completely closed to the idea of being worthy of someone’s love… which means that Athena has time to repair the damage she did. This opens up a route for Hina, or anyone else, since the whole ‘Athena broke his heart and he’s spent years making himself worthy – preventing him of thinking of himself as a worthy match to anyone’ situation is now resolved to an extent. She can do some repairs… and, should she choose to, let him go. Or at least Hayate will be able to get over that psychological block about ‘not being worthy, ever’ and be able to realize his feelings towards any member of the harem.

Also… damned cute Athena moment there.

Hayate should kick aside Nagi and establish a harem comprising Athena, Izumi, Hina, Isumi, Maria and Ayumu.

I’m starting to *dislike* the manga now because I don’t know who to root anymore. I mean, everyone is soo wonderful that the decision to root who over who is just ridiculously hard now. DARN!!
