Negima! 279

Rakan is so broken he can come back from the Recycle Bin by himself.

So I guess this confirms for sure Asuna’s the source of their “admin” powers.

And also gives them a heads-up on Fakesuna.

Rakan is so broken we had to see him get erased twice in two chapters.

Chisame breaking down was the saddest part of the whole chapter and, possibly the series so far. Rakan-san!! ウワァァ—–。゚(゚´Д`゚)゚。—–ン!!!!

On the other hand, Nodoka is finally standing up. Go, girl, go!

    I must use this…

    Obiwan has taught you well!

Someone has been watching too much Star Wars and inputting in a Force Ghost of Obi-Rakan. Negi Skywalker… your destiny is to fight Darth Vader

This is why Nodoka will always be my favorite character in the series.

Rakan might be able to compete with Goku for Strongest Anime/Manga character with this addition to his resume.

You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten me. Look inside yourself, Negi. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the Circle of Magic.

    alternate take:

Negi, don’t give in to hate – that leads to the dark side.

I agree with the Star Wars references, but also I would add a TTGL reference: Rakan basically pulled the same thing like Kamina, just a little more extreme.
Well, both of them are the Obi Wan, aren´t they?

On a side note: Anyone else here who think, Rakan and Chisame were an awesome couple?
Non-sexually, of course, but both of them were quite the Genre Savys, just with totally different opinions to the tropes around them: Rakan used them for their full extent, while Chisame just snarked about them. And I loved how both of them act together as comedic duo. ^_^
No wonder, that Chisame was so sad… She lost her bokke!

Chisame’s so horribly cute… and Rakan just encouraged the shippers who see Negi and Chisame as the next iteration of Keitaro and Naru. Also, Nodoka’s really… GROWN over the trip, hasn’t she? She’s no longer in the ‘small bust’ category. Anya would be so disappointed. ;)

It’s like Rankan is Cable from MvC2 and Fate is the spoiled kid who breaks the Original DC disc because he can’t win.

    @Ritz: Oh you!

@Di Gi Kazune: Ahahaha, Star Wars referencing now eh. That’s true in a way. Although Rakan might be restorable later.

@Ben: But Ben, Negima is damn interesting now precisely because Negi is going to the dark side… or at least using the powers of the dark side.

@Doc Astaroth: Yeah… sad to see the tsukkomi duo broken up. Temporarily, I hope!

@Haesslich: Oh I don’t think she’s grown THAT much. It’s just that she’s wearing a gown that really accentuates her bust line. It’s not like she didn’t have any, she just never showed it much in the first place.

@buh: I… don’t get your reference at all.

Nodoka got the real story by reading that guy’s mind, but she hasn’t yet told anyone else what it was, right? Looks like it’s this: The Magical World is a big computer simulation. It isn’t real; it’s like the fake world where Negi and Chisame and Nodoka talked to that guy.

And most of the people in the Magical World aren’t real, either. If the simulation shuts down, they all vanish without a trace. It’s only the Earth-born, and those descended from them, who have an existence independent of the simulation. That’s the reason that dude (whatever his name was) was only planning to rescue a minority of the inhabitants; it’s because it’s impossible to rescue the others.

Is that how you’all read it?

  14. Steven Den Beste Said,

Oh, and the reason everyone is terrified of Asuna is that she can break into the simulation and change it, or even outright shut it down. Right?

Of course, then there’s the question of just how much power Chisame might have over it all if she really stretches herself.

Asuna’s anti-magic ability is essentially a Neo-like power to negate whatever this ‘Matrix’ can throw at her.

Wa, refreshing as always this chapter, indeed I´m not very confident about the future of this arc. Aside Star Wars references, the point is a Neverending Story closing for this part. But I could be very wrong about this…

My long interest in series is the id-ish artifacts.

Nodoka sure showed some guts, but this will do any good without an attack type artifact?

Sorry for my very lose english

ps.: I would like to lend this text of yours about haruiism. Do you mind?
