I think the author’s description to the right of the last page kinda hits the nail on the head.

After correctly calling the Hina help showdown, let me look into the crystal ball once more. My predictions (also what I’d hope for):

    1) Hina will succeed in freeing Isumi and defeating the “small fries”

    2) Hayate will be partially successful. He will somehow defeat or hold off Midas, and he will succeed in apologizing to Athena. He’ll probably even confess his feelings to her. However, I expect that in the end, Athena will still (have to) disappear somehow, probably in the way she indicated in this chapter.

    3) Hayate will not realize that Red is Hina. At the end of the fight, Masamune returns to her.

I almost thought Hina would be in Pink. Still, at least Hayate woke A-tan up… but if she disappears, Nagi and Hina will have no way to open Hayate’s heart up again as he’ll know he’s unworthy of love as anyone he cares about leaves him. Always.

If I hadn’t read the title, I’d have mistaken this for a Negima chapter.

…Was Hata taking lessons from Akamatsu?

(On that note, Negima would be 10 volumes shorter if Hina was part of that cast.)

I expect Hina to finish off the small fries, then prevent Athena from disappearing out of consideration for Hayate’s feelings, Masamune in hand. Perhaps, Athena will still have to disappear but “leave” Hayate to Hina.

some way or another Hayate needs to use the Shirosakura….i mean…Athena did train him in sword fighting for the purpose of using that very same sword Hinagiku is now holding 1 day….that said, I found it convenient that Hina is using the (probably) ultimate weapon on this series, we all know without it she prob wouldnt have been able to fight on this one. But yeah Hina + Hayate combo should be great! cant wait for next chapter!
