Seikon no Censored 01

…. what happened to my lactation scenes?!! Dammit! I guess I’ll just have to wait for the AT-X versions airing on the 26th. Feels like waiting for CLANNAD widescreen, lol.

Anyways, censored scenes aside, not a bad intro to the show. Yuko Sanpei makes Sasha sound GAR and Ayumi Fujimura and Aki Toyosaki team up again for their second consecutive show after Sacred Boobsmith. Only this time no elf lolis. Seems like Ayumi gets pigeonholed a lot in to the “nekketsu-baka” type roles. Well can’t say she doesn’t bring that aspect of her character out better than any one else.

Surprised to hear Minorin again, this time thankfully in her Yuki Nagato-mode although her character is the lactation nun, ahahah. Ayako Kawasumi’s involvement is also another surprise for me and hearing the ED reveals even Hirano Aya’s joining them. Speaking of which, the ED sequence was quite unintentionally hillarious with the bath tub and floating scenes.

Meh, in any case, waiting for the AT-X version is probably the most prudent thing to do with the show now. All the censorship was done quite terribly and I got really lost too. Not like this is gonna be a ground-breaking series anyways.

Talkshow of the Vampire Bund

So. Dance of the Vampire Bund 01 is a talkshow. Since this is Shinbo(kastel) I guess this is to be expected. I already had my reservations about it, but this pretty much solidifies my worst fears about it.

To be clear, I’m not a hater of Shinbo’s works, but there are some times I wish he doesn’t try so hard to give everything an original spin. I have been following the manga way before the anime project was announced and I am quite a fan of it, so I guess I am pretty appalled and weirded out at how he kicked off the show.

It’s true in the manga the vampires publically announce their existence on national TV, but it was done via official means, with press conferences and statements by the vampires and the government. Now instead, Shinbo decided to make them appear on some trashy Japanese variety TV programme to lure out a wild vampire and make a great big mess out of it. I don’t think that will translate to good PR for the vampires at all. In fact I just think the whole exercise is an excuse for Shinbo to use cheap cuts and cinematography, with the second half of the episode descending in to cinéma vérité style.

While I didn’t like it at all, I guess fans of Shinbo will probably like it better. I am just hoping this doesn’t happen for the rest of the season. DitVB is a nice manga, and I would like to see it being given a proper adaptation. Then again, I guess Shinbo can get really creative with the censorship….. time will tell.

Ladies vs Butlers is…

Ladies vs Butlers

… win for evil Ayako Kawasumi. Seriously I don’t seem to be hearing her much lately and I’m glad to see her back, even better that she’s in a less stereotypical role. I shivered hearing her as Tomomi, with that cruel, sadistic shadow in her voice, especially when she trades barbs with drill-hair Nakahara Mai.

Speaking of which, Flameheart’s hair is so fake I have no idea if they’re doing it as a joke or they are seriously short on the animation budget. Probably more for jokes since they can afford to have life-like nipples.

Interestingly, Tomomi seems to have a penchant of going around without wearing bras. I can’t be the only one who noticed this right?

Ladies vs Butlers

In any case, Ladies vs Butlers looks like a fun show to follow, even if it’s gonna be mindless. Hey, I could survive Kanokon, this surely can’t be any worse!

Kizumonogatari, Nisemonogatari announced?

The online retailer Amazon in Japan lists Blu-ray and DVD editions of Kizumonogatari and Nisemonogatari — the prequel and sequel, respectively, to NisiOisin’s Bakemonogatari light novel series. Amazon’s listings do not necessarily indicate definite release plans or dates. (Pictured at right are the original light novel volumes of Kizumonogatari and the two-volume Nisemonogatari.)

Awesome, so we get to see Shinobu-chan in action? Also, vampire-mode Araragi is fine too.

But first…. where is the rest of Tsubasa Cat, SHAFT?!

TO OVA

Basically a two-part OVA series done by Fumihiko Sori of Vexille and Appleseed fame, TO is based on the old 2001 Nights manga by Yukinobu Hoshino. I haven’t read the source material so I have no idea how it is like, but it seems to be series of independent short stories.

Elliptical Orbit is the first one of the series and focuses on Dan, the supervisor on Midnight Bazooka (a space-station-cum-mass-driver) and its rendezvous with the Flying Dutchman, a interstellar cruiser going between Earth and Alpha Centauri at a period of fifteen years per trip. The Flying Dutchman is carrying a precious cargo of unobtanium which is hijacked by a bunch of terrorists intent on destroying a lunar base using it.

Symbiotic Planet is the second one and is set quite in the future where mankind has explored ninety light years from the Solar System. A planet is found to be suitable for terraforming, but the natural fungi living on the planet is getting in the way. The main character is Aon, chief researcher on the US-Euro colony, madly in love with Elena from the Eurasian colony.

True Tears BD Box Confirmed!

Source: http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=1123796

The official website for the true tears anime series has confirmed on Monday that 2,000 Blu-ray Box pre-orders had been received — the minimum needed to give the planned Blu-ray conversion project the official go-ahead. The box will add about three minutes of new, unaired anime footage as an epilogue. The epilogue will depict the future of the main characters after the 13th and last television episode.

Source: Anime News Network

Fuck yes! While I can’t say I had a hand in this, but it still pleases me to know that at least 2000 fans of true tears exist that like the series enough to buy a BD box of it.

Of course, aside from the 1080p quality (which the series damn well deserves), the new epilogue is probably one of the more anticipated things coming from this box set. I just hope it’s not 3 mins long or something….. I want to know what happens to Hiromi and Shinichiro :P.
