Actually I don't hate Daisuke Hirakawa per se, but blame his bad luck for voicing Makoto and using that voice again for this show. I quite liked him in Itazura no Kiss as Irie Naoki. He's perfect for those roles.

I can't even remember what the lead of School Days sounded like. By the 2nd episode when it was obviously a train wreck about to happen, I bailed on it.. And thus preserving the career of one male VA, it seems, based on the reaction here.

One thing I liked about Yuuto was he was the rare version of harem lead that eventually grew respectable and had somewhat of a spine. In the manga, at least. It seems whenever they do an anime adaptation of that sort of lead, the first thing they do is totally get rid of the spine and thus any individuality he had.

I heard the theory once that they do this so that the male lead is 'non-threatening' to the audience, and thus the only purpose of the male lead is to illicit interesting reactions out of the haremettes.

Thank god Takeshi Kusao isn't voicing Yuuto- Wait, that actually would be a good thing. IF YUUTO DIDN'T SUCK SO BAD.

As for Himari, I would have loved it if she was voiced by Satsuki Yukino, but Ami Koshimizu isn't well-fitted for this character.

I think Kurogane was right to drop this anime. It does NOT do the manga justice. It's nothing more than your average harem anime; compare it to Rosario+Vampire if you have to.

"I feel sorry for Daisuke Hirakawa, his voice will forever be associated to Makoto."

Somehow I imagine him crying after reading Kurogane's post above.

As a huge fan of Matra Milan... I think I will try to prevail... though I'm pretty much agree with Kurogane... but I'm sure Matra Milan would hope for some support for his first anime.
