Queen-mode Hanazawa Kana is kinda win

Hanazawa Kana in queen-mode as Sharon Reinsworth is pretty damn win. Makes a refreshing change from the usual roles she generally plays. Too bad she doesn’t do much usually :(.

Pandora Hearts has been quite the engrossing watch despite the slow start and BL-esque elements that sometimes pop up uncomfortably. To be honest, Akira Ishida is totally stealing the show for me with an impressive performance as Xarxes Break. I just love it when he does “Joker” characters that you can’t seem to figure heads or tails with them. Provides perfect foil to the self-hating lead and his overly dedicated servant. Surprisingly, Ayako Kawasumi is rather underutilized here despite being set up as the main plot device.

So far, quite loving the pace of the plot that interleaves serious business drama and light-hearted comedy in a way that sustains your attention. Though I must say I am probably lucky I left this for marathon watching rather than weekly… I would probably have dropped it instead.

So, is it worth watching afterall? I dropped it after the second or third episode or so, I remember a monster bunny on a rampage and last thing I knew I dropped a .mkv in the trashbin. Is it good despite the leporidian thing?

The anime is underrated, well I got disappointed since the anime ended at 26 episodes while the manga is still ongoing.

Xarxes Break is like a mix combination of Hizoka and the other guy in Recca no Hoshii.

Well, Xerxes is already full of win the first time he shows up although that’s because I already knew of his personality. Sharon is actually pretty darn narcissistic and awesome as well. Too bad the anime was only 26 episodes so we won’t see the Echo date or the mind f*** Oz later on. That part of Oz somehow was as amazing as when in D.Gray-man the 14th woke up in Allen.

@Shin: She excels at moeshit but it’s great to see she’s good at other things too!

@tycoonajv: I’m just watching the series right now.

@The Hordesman: It gets pretty interesting the third episode on wards. As I said, slow start.

@arigatou: Yeah the anime ending was kinda sudden. Already expected it though. Should do a season 2 to finish it up….

Xebec is a strange studio…They produce Kanokon and LvsB and yet they had a part in The Third, Hitohira and now Pandora Hearts! And yep that ending was indeed sudden, but for an anime original ending, I liked it! Just consider what that final episode focuses on and compare it to how the series started. And yes I’m a new commentor of your blog :) *waves*

Yeah. The pacing made the show a pain to watch weekly, but I still liked it a great deal (http://www.anime-planet.com/reviews/a683.html).

I agree with you about the voice acting, although, I found that Kawasumi-san got plenty of opportunities to flex her vocal chords, you just have to be paying attention.
