Kampfer 10

Yes, you are. Quite a bit. I mean, I knew from the start you were weird, but what is this I don’t even.

That evil glint in her eyes is totally creepy.

Shizuku is officially the most awesome-est female character of this season. She was just about to be raped and she regretted letting it pass! Then again I guess that’s pretty much the only way she can get Natsuru to touch her, given his bloody unfounded loyalty to Evil Bitch Overload Sakura. Natsuru, you’ve got a special place in Hell reserved if you don’t end up with her!

Am I the only one who thinks that Kaede just fucked the living daylights out of those 4 and are having a post-coitus moment in this scene? I mean, she’s already pretty much a self-confessed lesbian, plus the fact that one of the Whites said they’ve dedicated their body and soul to her…..

I’ve heard rumours about Sakura might be putting a deep hypnosis on Natsuru, but this episode definitely had me cemented more on the idea. Apparently Sakura’s presence in the novel around him has been called a poison or something…don’t quote me on that.

forget season, something tells me no matter what happens, she’ll be the awesome-est female in the series.

also there is definitely a special hell for Natsuru, IDC how badly he’s devoted to that evil lesbian (juts so there ain’t any confusion, i mean Sakura) he is needs to end with Shizuku, end of story (well at least not yet hopefully)

and on the last picture, yeah it seems like Sakura just finished fuckin all four of them

Cutting Shizuku short is such a crime :( … only 2 more eps of her awesomeness.

Let’s at least hope for a good ending…

kurogane, i think so too. thats how she controls them, duh! Shizuku is fucking awesome and natsuru is a complete dimwit asshole with no backbone. this show is frustrating. why do i bother with these dumb harem shows when the male role is played by an amoeba? because of shizuku!!!

Evil Sakura’s more interesting than sweet Sakura is… and more in the Sakura Matoi from Heaven’s Feel route sort of way. Nice to see we’re getting a hint as to why Natsuru’s so useless, though.

Well, given that Kaede’s been with him since middle school… and if we assume she’s been a Moderator from the very beginning, it’s most likely he’s been under her finger for a looooooooooooong time.

Come to think of it, he’s the only male to EVER get a Zoumotsu Animal from Sakura. I wonder why.

Maybe she needed a laugh and decided to turn Natsuru in to a kampfer/a girl.

I’m sorry, what did you just say? Did you just equate ‘awesome’ with ‘regretting not being raped’? Kuro I’ve always enjoyed your posts and have been a loyal blog reader for years, but I honestly cannot believe you just said something so atrocious and utterly Made of Fail. D:<

Jesus christ, Nev… I’m almost positive that you didn’t watch the episode at all, right? And are just commenting on Kurogane’s line?

What Kurogane admires (along with me) is the combination of traits which Shizuku demonstrated in this scene.

    1) She loves Natsuru and would be perfectly willing to sleep with him under normal circumstances. In fact, she’d welcome it.

    2) However, her pride will not allow her to just go along with it as long as he is not his normal self, and consequently she resists and knocks him out. And rather demonstrates her care anyway by kissing his cheek and essentially inviting him to try again when he is “normal” again.

    3) She overcame her shock and later the realization of the bitter truth quickly enough that in hindsight, she wonders if she didn’t let a chance for her slip by due to her pride, and that it might have been “better” for her to play along. That’s alot of refreshing honesty and self-reflection on her end, and it underlines her ability to keep her wits and calm even under pressure.

    Seriously, watch the ep ^_^;

Hey, thanks for assuming I didn’t watch the episode and was speaking in ignorance, I just *love* it when people do that. :/

Yes, I watched it – though god only knows WHY, since it perpetuates the ridiculous and poisonous otaku dream that being a complete and utter ASSHOLE makes the ladies want in your pants – and yes, I *was* only referring to Kuro’s line, which is why I quoted it, and not the episode or any of the screencaps.

I like Shizuku, even if she IS crazy for thinking Natsuru is worth her time and affection. He so doesn’t deserve her. Or anyone. Cause he’s a prick. I wish she was in a different series so I could actually enjoy watching something with her in it.

What you call ‘self-reflection’ however just seems to me to be male wish-fulfilment, because of *course* she wants it, all women want to be taken advantage of, really. *snort* (Isn’t that why an earlier commenter asked ‘is it rape if she wanted it?’ How easy for men to justify their actions! She totally wanted it, after all – I mean, I could see her boobs and everything! *weary sigh*)

Go ahead and call me names if you want to, I’m just very disappointed with some of the things I’ve read here. Not that it matters to anyone but me, I guess. :(

@Nev: Maybe that came out wrong for you, but that line shouldn’t be taken that seriously, especially in the context of a show like Kampfer.

Obviously, women in real life would almost never behave this way (there might actually be one in real life you know! given all the weird news I read everyday), so don’t worry, I’m pretty good at separating the 2D world and the 3D one.

Shizuku is pretty much in love with Natsuru (for the sheer fact Natsuru is a walking Pheromone Machine) and practically every women in the show is trying to get him in their pants (also because he’s a Pheromone Machine), so once you watch this show with that degree of Suspension of Disbelief and just accepting it for what is it (Male Wish Fulfillment), that line is just pretty much a reaction to what just happened in the show. I mean, hey if girls can have Twilight, why can’t guys have Kampfer?

In short, if you think it’s Made Of Fail, then yeah, it’s probably is. Just bear in mind that it only applies to this certain context of this show, not in a general situation. Getting quoted out-of-context is pretty much one of the most irritating things to ever happen in this world.

You’re right, being quoted out of context IS pretty awful – but even within the context of an admittedly unrealistic overthetop fanservice extravaganza, it’s still pretty awful. :(

Thank you for taking the time to answer me though, I appreciate it.

Just one more thing though – I HATE TWATLIGHT PLEASE GOD LET IT DIE IN A FUCKING FIRE. Please, let’s not even go there, my vitriol for that abomination knows no bounds. I’d rather have everyone watch fanservice like Kampfer and Sora no Otoshimono and Purezza and GOD even crap like Urotosukidoji than the soulsucking garbage that is currently turning young women into brainwashed idiots and older ones into stalkers. Bleauuuughhhhhhhhh.

hey i know, maybe this is stupid question, but this is technically my first Harem anime

I’ve stuck with mecha animes (gundam series) and the usual (bleach, one piece, death note, naruto, naruto shippuden”

even found another few good ones like darker than black (currently watching the second season) and also gunslinger girls and a few couple others too.

anyways, I’ve watched quite a few animes, with very awesome stories, but Kampfer is like a complete new concept for me

so to the point, anybody know or believe that a second season of Kampfer might be plausible

  22. Kurogane Shiroikaze Said,

    December 7, 2009 @ 4:35 am

@Haesslich: Twilight does not exist. It is merely a mythical creation of the minds of countless sex-starved females who can’t understand men.

@Ryuzaki: Possible, depending on the ending. (And the DVD sales too)

  23. Mentar Said,

    December 7, 2009 @ 6:37 am

Nev, what exactly are you complaining about? That the anime showed a guy about to force himself on a girl based on the order of someone else? Where the girl herself is fundamentally receptive to sleeping with the guy, because she loves him?

This isn’t “awful”, it’s pretty impressive in my opinion how Shizuku handled it. She knocked him out to deliver the message that she is not willing to be abused like this if there’s no genuine feeling behind it – but that she’d certainly be willing to play along once there was.

Heck, this wasn’t about to be any “rape” to begin with. Natsuru was essentially frozen solid and obviously fought against the mind manipulation, particularly after Shizuku’s kiss woke him up again. So, it wasn’t very much different from earlier scenes in which Shizuku tried her best to seduce Natsuru, who in turn was trying to resist. THAT was what Shizuku referred to with her final comment: If her pride hadn’t made her terminate the tryst, she possibly could have successfully seduced Natsuru (which has been her strategy so far), and that might have gotten her farther than where she is now.

Nothing wrong with calling that awesome *shrug*

  24. Ryuzaki Said,

    @ Kurogane

yeah’s I’m really hoping they have a second season

above the fact that Shizuku is awesome and that the anime is a wish come true as far as i’m concerned, it is in its own way interesting and really entertaining and its not just cause of the sex scenes (mostly lesbian though)

All i’m saying is, i think,it could go serious or at least has the potential for a new season, as in bring out new kinds of enemies, more competition for Natsuru’s attention,(not that that dickless bastard deserves it…) and maybe a better Natsuru

  25. Roiya Soulance Said,

Rather than new characters, I’d rather have them actually bring about other guys for Mikoto and Akane. We’re seeing that possibly all the affection that Natsuru had for Kaede is artificial, and that Shizuku is (rather dubiously) leaving them in the dust. I’d pray that Mikoto and Akane get to have more done with their personality instead of being relegated to Mistress Shizuku’s toys for entertainment and/or background noise that the writers fitted them into. And better fighting skills, wth is with the one-hot ko’s? :/

I’d even be okay if they both got together. Shizuku, despite being ‘shot down’ (I can’t even seriously say she’s even been shot down, now that Natsuru seems to have been mind scrambled, so this revelation should make her chances even better) doesn’t really garner my sympathy. If anyone, I can say Akane should get that, I mean, she makes the date, and we got crashers everywhere (you might say that Shizuku foresaw the Whites coming to play, doesn’t make it any less than a kick to her guts, she never even had the opportunity, making that last scene in the ep pure ship tease going nowhere)

Is anyone surprised that it’s Kaori Nazuka voicing Shizuka? I know I am. (She voiced Nunnally. And Lynette for those who watched Strike Witches.) Even still, I’ve heard her as Kyouju in GA Design Class – the voice type is the same.. but damn, what a range.

I’m sad that this show is going to end in 2 episodes… it feels like it could be so much longer! With more teams of kampfers and so on.

Still, this episode cemented Shizuru’s awesomeness for us all to see.

  28. Kurogane Shiroikaze Said,

    December 7, 2009 @ 4:19 pm

@Maserbeam: Not really, especially if one watched true tears. That was Kaori Nazuka at her finest. Really.

For the second season wishes, I sure hope they cover Shizuku’s backstory, which Mentar tells me has been totally skipped over in the anime and actually makes Shizuku in to god-tier haremette or smth.
