Hey, I love such estimates! XD

Well, I guess, Esper´s powers work by changing reality (read: changing the natural constants.)

I made a quick estimate about the energies involved in that particular railgun scene. I made some conservative assumptions about the masses and velocity, so the outcome should be rather overestimating the real deal. Anyway here is what I did:
Mass of car: M=500kg
Mass of coin: m=10g=0.1g
Velocity of car: V=50km/h
Velocity of coin: v=?
I assumed a total inelastic collision with the collision partners at rest after the collision (yeah error here, but it's not that big and it eases the calculation). Therefore via conservation of impulse:P+p=MV+mv=0 => v=-m/M * v. Putting in the values above this yields a coin velocity of v = -2500000 km/h or about 700000m/s which is still sufficiently below the speed of light. Such a speed equals an energy of about 10 GJ. As she accelerates the coin with her hand she got only about d=10cm=0.1m as a distance of acceleration. The whole acceleration process should therefore take about t = d/v seconds. This yields a power P=E/t of 0.25 ExaWatt which is quite lol. For comparison existing railsguns have vmax of about 3000m/s and energies of about 10MJ.

Kuroko isn't a supporting character in Railgun, she's the MVP. And definitely on par as second lead heroine. Some major parts of the story revolve around her as primary character ;)

(Also, look at the OP - Kuroko is featured prominently aside Mikoto)

What a wonderful start!
