Bakemonogatari 10

I’m sorry. I know this was a relatively serious episode but I couldn’t resist the sexual innuendos. Oh god, maybe I’m starting to turn in to Shin…. God help us all.

Anyways, this is possibly the most serious arc of the show so far, since a poor helpless girl almost got cursed to death just because of some one-sided hatred. Really sounded like an episode of Jigoku Shoujo there. But this episode also ended in a very dark note too, mostly because Koyomi was so engrossed in to destroying the oddity, he almost ended up dead himself.

It’s as Oshino and Enma says, “If you curse someone, two holes will open.” While I admire his whole-hearted kindness, but sometimes, you gotta let some bad things happen or the world will just break down. If he’d had managed to destroy the snake, but ended up dead himself, imagine the wrath that Senjougahara would visit on those two kids who cursed Nadeko in the first place. Even worse, Nadeko might even get cursed again as well by them and this time… no Koyomi-oniichan to help her. Better just let malice be responded with malice.

That being said, gotta say nice song by Hanazawa Kana there. Her type of voice usually ends up being not very perfect for singing and I daresay Kannagi really helped to cultivate that image, but her performance of this episode’s OP proves that she can sing, given the proper lyrics and song too.

Next up is Tsubasa Cat…. which means a lot of Hocchan to come!

    Cut due to circumstances.

Looks like SHAFT still hasn’t gotten over their animator CRISIS ever since Tsukuyomi.

Man, the OP is AWESOME. She is well suited for cutesy songs/ roles.

What? Those “Unumbered cut” flashes throughout the anime were due to animator problems? I always thought that it was intentional since that seemed like their style.

Wow. Reading this post really made me understand the episode a bit more.
Araragi is a really nice guy, and the events of this episode should make him realize that he needs to regulate his kindness and doesn’t have to save anyone

I really enjoy how the OPs change but the ED doesn’t, cause the lyrics of the ED seemingly always apply to the anime.

Likely intentional. It would be pretty badass if the DVD had more animationthough.
