Just to bring this to attention after getting to know about it from Eastern Standard (via omo’s GRSI) and I must say, the alternate audio stream featuring Hanekawa and Senjougahara is pretty much win.

I really hope to any group who decides to do a release of the DVD/BD editions of Bakemonogatari to provide a translation of the alternate audio stream as well. It’s most probably the best alternate audio commentary extra ever, if you compared it to the usual boring director/producer/actor’s comments. Senjougahara is in full form here and seriously leaves no punches pulled.

The second episode even has her a biiiiiiiiiiiit embarrassed about the first half and she claims that it’s actually a friend who’s also named Senjougahara Hitagi and she would not have done that if she knew it was being broadcasted nationwide. Even Hanakawa follows on this and calls her the Senjougahara-that’s-not, LOL. Also, the trigger of why she fell for Araragi was because he told her to be more optimistic.

Even so, she continues to admonish Araragi repeatedly whenever he stands in a way that makes him look taller and calls him useless during the crab-summoning ceremony (admittedly true) as he’s just standing there doing pretty much nothing except to look surprised.

Hanekawa’s also hillarious herself, first commenting on how cute Shinobu-chan is when she appears in the first episode, then commenting on how cool Oshino’s hairy hands are until Senjougahara advises her to stop liking everything. Also she even goes in to a long rambling dissection about the Pareto principle, on how it applies to ant colonies and human society, etc etc. As expected from Hanewiki.

Lastly, at the end of her arc (which she refers to her public execution since it shows her inflicting bodily harm to Araragi, revealing her personal data, showing her nude out of the shower, undressing repeatedly in front of Araragi and even revealing her traumatic experiences), Senjougahara cuts off with a claim to toy companies who intend to market her Mugen Hotchkiss toy (remember the bubble wrap toy?) to actually pay her royalties, ROFL.

For Mayoi Snail, it’ll be Mayoi’s turn to do the commentaries with Hanekawa, and I really can’t wait to hear that. It should prove to be extremely interesting wwww. Hey Shin, something to look out for, ain’t it?

Obligatory Meido-fuku Hayate appearance.

Season 2 was shorter than I thought. Didn’t they say it was gonna be another 4-cour show? Looks like it got toned down a bit huh.

Anyways, the first half of this episode is the Hina in Wonderland (LOL at the CB and Geass references) chapter, while the second half is Hayate’s adventures in buying Packy, an anime original. Pretty much Nagi sends Hayate out on an errand, and we get a “Hajimete no Otsukai”-style coverage of how unlucky Hayate really is when he’s thrown outside of the mansion. The ending was pretty touching (BAWWW’ed a bit) though, and I’ll say, the writers for this season are quite good.

God damn, this manga is getting a bit too ridiculous for my tastes. But I do know one thing… DO NOT PISS OFF MEDAKA. It’s the ones that rarely get angry that are the ones who are truly scary.

So…. after nearly 20 mins of YURI OVERWHELMING (”It’s starting to feel awkward calling each other by our last names.”), we’re treated to an extended trailer of Saki S2: The Nationals. WTF IS WITH THE MIKOS AND THE COSPLAYERS #$$##@$@!#%#@$!!! As if the show wasn’t already ridiculous enough already…. oh well, nopan mikos. And really…. the effects are getting more and more overboard. I sure hope it’s just Gonzo!

Actor Keanu Reeves (The Matrix, Animatrix, Johnny Mnemonic) told MTV News that the proposed live-action Cowboy Bebop film project is currently being rewritten. During a press event for The Private Lives of Pippa Lee film, he said, “There’s a draft of the script, but the writer did such a great job [that] in order to make the movie, you would need half a billion dollars. […] So the studio went, ‘This movie is fantastic and it would cost half a billion dollars. So he’s doing a rewrite.” Reeves added that the producers are “just trying to pull it back” in scope, and “the only challenge was to make a satisfying western narrative.”

You know what they should do? Just sign Josh Whedon on and make a Firefly x Cowboy Bebop crossover. That idea’s so radical it might just bloody work!

Going off for a trip to Langkawi for the next 3 days, so there won’t be any posts about. Haven’t really been there before, so hopefully it’ll be a nice trip.

And hopefully, I won’t break any banks buying duty-free stuff there, although from the feedback I’ve read, there really isn’t anything worth it for me except for chocolates :P.

Maaaaaaaaaan, Black Hanekawa is all kinds of hot. A certain someone I know would probably melt from the neko-dialect itself. Hocchan BANZAI!
