About SaiMoe 2009…

Yeah, I’ve noticed a lot of you guys want me to cover SaiMoe this year, but frankly to say after three years, a lot of the novelty’s gone for me. Especially after last year’s Kagamin’s win, which was actually the first year I’d thought SaiMoe had a decent winner.

Well, that’s not to say I won’t cover it, but don’t expect me to cover the pre-lims. It’s too much work and I’m in for a busy period now (final year of my studies), so if I do cover SaiMoe 2009, it’ll probably be when the group finals or the tournament proper starts.

In the mean time, Moetron is offering daily coverage about SaiMoe, or you can always go to the usual Animesuki forums thread for results updates.

Bonus corner: Characters I’m hoping to see in the proper bracket this year:-

  1. Sunohara Mei
  2. Horo
  3. Shishidou Takane
  4. Akiyama Mio
  5. Fujibayashi Kyou (lol)
  6. C.C (lool)
  7. Asuka Langley Shikinami (what?!~)
  8. Katsura Hinagiku (even her mother’s in the running!)
  9. Ana Coppola (lol IchiMashi makes an appearance this year!)
  10. Felli Loss (as if)
  11. Shinouji Matsurika (always entertaining)

er….you do realize the prelims are over and the main Tournament has begun, I hope…

But most if not all of the girls in your listing are in this.

Main round already started a few days ago. Also, all the chars you mentioned made it in… including Hina’s mom lol

As the others said, the thing already started. Wait for each group’s finals or something though, maybe that would be way more worthwhile of your time.

Let’s watch how all the K-ON! girls will plow through the tournament. I bet all my cookies that Mio will win Saimoe this year.

There’s no contest this year. I’ll be surprised if Mio Akiyama doesn’t win.

No Krauser-tan, so I’m not interested

Some Saki Charakters are quite powerful too.
Anyway, good luck at your studies Kurogane^^

Takane got kicked out by Perinne (Strike Witches) just a few hours ago x.X

It’s such a pity you can’t/won’t be blogging saimoe this year, since I liked your posts quite a lot the last years. But if you have private things to do it can’t be helped.

    Good luck for your studies.

@Saimoe: With K-On, Saki, Index and Strike Witches there are four newcomer series that have high potentials for getting far in saimoe (SoraKakeGirl doesn’t seem to be strong, with Honoka already out and Takane following as well orz). And I wouldn’t bet on Mio since Saki chars are indeed not to be underestimated (22 chars in the main bracket with about 12 of them with greater fanbase)

I can imagine the top 8 to be from: 3x Saki, 2x K-On, 1x Index, 1x Clannad and some other (Hinagiku, Lucky Star, another Clannad girl…)

Mio got eliminated in the 1st round… Kana Minami won that group.

After so long, SaiMoe kinda loses its sparkle for me…

Negima 260 is out, go read it.

I’ll be taking those cookies, Phocus.

Always remember the key to winning SaiMoe isn’t having a lot of popularity, it’s NOT drawing a lot of haet. Mio has a lot of both, and we see which won. Don’t expect any of the recent KyoAni girls to be going very far this year…

err.. sory to questioned, what is SaiMoe?

Sal : literally ‘Most Moe’. It’s a tournament where you vote for the ‘Most Moe’ anime character. That about sums it up:)
