Ikeda was solely placed in here so that the captain could show off her skills in round 1 and not look bad. You can’t have a round where everyone is good right, because SOMEONE has to lose bigtime for Koromo to look good before Saki inevitably wins.

Pretty awesome episode.
Koromo’s flaming hands are a really good effect at showing her prowess.

On the Ikeda discussion.
She’s not useless, Koromo is quite literally “SUPREME GODLY NATURE”

It was essentially what Fujita did to Saki and Nodoka way back at the beginning. Koromo is on a totally different level. But of course Saki can pull through.

The manga was on a bit of a hiatus. We still haven’t see Teru and the other mahjong god (that Fujita mentioned earlier).

I’ve heard that it’s not that Kana sucks really, but her shtick is Mrs. Big Hands. With Koromo’s abilities in preventing anyone else from really developing their hands, those big winners never come together, yet you see that Kana’s only a couple of tiles away from some nice hands if luck was on her side. But it’s not for the moment. Maybe Saki’s move at the end helps out with that.

Yep, that was what I was thinking according to what I’ve seen from the RAWs. Well, that would mean that this round will be continuing for at least a couple more episode!!!! And, then it might be filler (hopefully not) since the manga chapters are released once a month. Either way, I hope the manga ends the 5th round before the anime does. Then, Saki would be the perfect 26 episode series!!

Manga is also in the fifth round (barely ahead of the anime).

The manga is currently just on the first final of the team where one of the leader just open her right eye. That is for the english scanlated manga.

Is the manga even up to the national championship yet?? Otherwise, it’d be bad for the anime to make up stuff. They’ve been following the manga very well.

Anyways, I loved the episode. Koromo made a BIG mistake by throwing away her win in order to torture her competitors. We all know that is going to get her later in the round. On the other hand, she still is a very kindhearted person (when she is not playing mahjong).
