Suzumiya Haruhi

Now taking bets on whether the next episode of Suzumiya Haruhi will end with another closed loop or not. Odds are at eight to one for closed!

I say it’s not going to be another closed loop. Then again, that’s following my blind optimism. So in that case, I place all my cookies on “NOT CLOSED LOOP”.

Oh KyoAni, please get on with the story, so that we may become another episode closer to the Disappearance arc!

It’s not like 15500 is a special number or something to believe they should stop then. But being realistic, they should stop next episode. If not, I’m really gonna give up on this anime

Now again, if they really like this number or something, they could have started with it being the 15499th loop the first episode, so they could have ended the arc the next episode. To drag on this arc (it was quite a short story in the novel) is quite lame

It depends on how many directors are left. Unless they start cycling directors, of course.

how many times can a closed loop loop if a closed loop could loop?

I hope it’s an open loop that lasts forever, or for at least 52 more weeks.

Interesting question XD. Seeing as its already looped 15498 times already, whats a couple more?

KyoAni are now toying with us if not already. By the next ep we will have gone deep in to madness.

    dear kyoani
stop being a ***** troll and GET ON WITH IT!

Is it just me or do they succeed in doing a loop that isn’t annoying or tiring? I found this episode a fun watch even though it was more or less the same as the last- the thrill around wether Kyon would solve it or not was exciting, and the failure to do so in the end was a big “NOOOO!” but a welcome one at that.

Or maybe I am just easily amused, but since when was that a bad thing? When the episode was over my reaction was more “haha someone will get pissed over this.” more than “I am pissed over this.”
Oh right, maybe my reaction was fueled by sadism? Possibly.

Thi-, I mean, 15500s time the charm!

The loop will end after 88888888 -> to endless. Now that’s endless 8.

I wanted to see the story progress, having to endure the same thing twice is one thing I could have accepted, but three times with just slight changes in what they show and focus on?

WTF KyoAni, give me something better that once again will make me a firm believer in that you can´t do anything wrong, cause you´re screwing this one up pretty badly.

I’m with the The Hordesman on this one. I don’t mind the loop going for 2 episodes, but I do think it will end on the third one.

The second loop was pretty well animated and quite different from the first in almost every aspect.

Oh c’mon guys, at least they started from 15498! It could’ve been much more worse! Then we’d have to wait 350 years (assuming one episode a week) to get to the Disappearance arc!

  15. Jacqi Said,

    July 4, 2009 @ 10:08 pm

omg they’re gonna repeat it eight times :S
it really is gonna be endless eight!
I will actually cry if this is the main story arc instead of disappearance. Cry.
And they did say that ‘season 2’ had been cancelled and replaced with a ‘continuation’ of the first season, so theres nothing to say they’re even gonna do disappearance anymore. T.T
This story could easily have been tackled in 1 episode, 2 at the most. Not 4. Not 8. Not 15498. D:<

Next time will be the last.

I liked when it repeated the second time, and another followup ending it would have been perfectly cool. However, the director of the third loop SUCKED. Just lots of repeating, and fairly uninspired ‘camera’ placements. Whoever directed that one should be weeded out.

I think I saw somewhere that the disappearance arc will be the last 3-4 episodes of this (combined) 24~28 episode season.

  18. shaoron Said,

    July 6, 2009 @ 9:27 pm

wait… they say that this will have 28 episodes (14 of those are from season 1) right?
what if the REST of the episodes for season two are all endless eight…? *facepalm*

  19. WaffleBoy230 Said,

    July 6, 2009 @ 11:25 pm

what I would do is I would just start with the disappearance arc in the next episode and finish the endless eight at the very end. I find it interesting that the past 2 endless 8 episodes didn’t have any previews or was that just chihiro’s subs cut them out?

  20. Soichiro Said,

I am not as excited for the new episodes in “season two” as I was for the first arc. Repeating episodes? Isn’t that kind of…sad? Are they going to try to pull us until we just figure, “Hey, Haruhi is /never/ going to be same as before, so why not just give up?” so people can stop harrassing them about a new season? If they are doing this, which they probably aren’t, then they reallllllyyyyy suck.

  21. Lala Said,

    July 10, 2009 @ 2:33 pm

Good grief, I’m going to go commit suicide. Stop repeating the same frickin episode!! It’s been what? four times already?? STOPITT! -bangs head on wall- But really, are they so lacking in ideas that they feel the need to repeat the same thing over and over again? What kinda second season is this?

  22. ryvrdrgn14 Said,

    July 11, 2009 @ 9:24 pm

Lala, sadly they did it 4 times. o_O

Though the music in the 4th one was pretty nice for the suspense, it was pretty much exactly the same as the 3rd episode with practically little save for a change of clothes and dialogue as difference.

Well that and the image of an airplane.

I did not expect any minor arc to go past 2 episodes. The only way to probably survive this is to fast forward every new episode right to the ending and see if you should skip it or not. o_O

As much as I like the series and the animation company, this is 100% certified fail already for stretching it this long. Someone better hang the guy who plotted out the anime episodes.

Imagine the artists and the voice actors having to go through the same art and lines over and over. D:

Why do so many people hate on Haruhi 2? I don’t think it’s that bad <.<
There are plenty of Anime’s being released, that are far worse.
