@Anise: Why not? The Hina Birthday arc stretched over 2 volumes in the manga. Anyways, she’s already pretty much the unofficial heroine of the story, based on how she’s been sweeping up pretty much every character popularity poll for the Hayate manga.

Man I love the animation of Hayate. Sure, some chars might look similiar to Shakugan no Shana, but Iunno. Hayate just looks like it has alot more depth to it.

It seems questionable to me that they were able to get 7 or 8 full episodes out of the Hina Birthday arc. When you couple it with the ending song (which is just embarrassingly bad), it’s full and utter Hinagiku overload. You’d think she was the protagonist or something, or a Misaka Mikoto-type female lead, but she’s not. *Checks manga* I just don’t recall her role in the Butler’s Tiger Den being _that_ large.

Episode 14 was somewhat of an improvement – Isumi is priceless in almost all of her appearances. Is this going to be 26 or 52 episodes this time? Anyone sure?

You’re blaming the wrong people here, because J.C. Staff is doing one of the most faithful manga adaptations ever seen in this decade (probably).

Even in the manga, after volume 7 or so, there has been an increased focus on Hinagiku and Hayate’s various tumbles with the girls, but I’ll say that this is the peak of it.

Nagi, Maria and the Hamster will get their time after this episode, notably in the Hot Springs trip arc where it touches on Ayumu’s love for Hayate and Nagi’s mother, so wait for that if you’re not as much in to Hinagiku.

Sadly enough, Klaus and Tama remain much forgotten still.

First time reader, first time poster ^-^

Am I the only person who is not a Hayate x Hina person? (I don’t really have a preference, I watch / read for the comedy, not the romance) I feel that this season is sorely lacking in the comedy aspect compared to season 1, and if I didn’t know any better, I would assume that JC Staff is stocked _thoroughly_ with Hayate x Hina fanboys. It’s _really_ annoying, and I like Hinagiku as a character.

I know they’re following the manga more closely than season 1 did, but you’d think they killed off Klaus, Tama, the scientist, Yukiji, and to a lesser extent, Nagi, Maria, and Hamster.

Also, my absolute least favorite characters are Miki, Segawa and Riza, so this season is really not getting it done for me. It’s not a popular opinion judging by all the other sites I’ve seen. Am I alone in the blog-o-verse, or are people not too keen on Hayate x Hina just afraid to speak up?

Best episode overall of the whole season 1 and 2 combined.

This episode might motivate you… damn haruhi put everyone in despair with 3 times of the same episode…
