I shouldn’t even say ‘generally’, I should say ‘always’.

Stories NEED conflict to remain INTERESTING. Fact.

And I fail to see how this is generic school life. It’s about a student council, that’s not really that common.

Besides, this was an Akune chapter. Of course there’s less Zenkichi.

Chapter 7 only promotes my growing disdain for the series. Hello Hosaka from Minami-ke and almost nil Zenkichi time.

While I won’t disagree with Kaisos remark about “pure fluff stories generally fall apart”, the key word is “generally”. It’s up to the author stay keep true yet keep things interesting. Otherwise, it will pander to the masses and become another generic school life series. For now, despite my early expectations with the first couple chapters, I see it being the latter.

I think the Haruhi impression mostly came from a) the Armbands and b) her rather powerful declaration after winning the election.

I didn’t quite feel it was Haruhi though, but after awhile it dawned on me that (at least for me) it more closely resembles the series Special As in both pace and characters; only this time the number one person is female and the number two person is male.

It’s entertaining, but picking up from FFVIIKnight’s comment, I think the latest chapter just caught us off guard because we were lead to believe Zenkichi would ‘work his way up the ranks’ as Medeka declared in an earlier chapter.

Having someone instantly put in with a rank higher than Zenkichi was unexpected (since he has the lowest rank). That and seeing half naked dudity would make anyone go ‘doh’. Anyway, still looking forward to the upcoming chapters. xD

Can’t tell a story without some form of change or conflict. Pure fluff stories generally fall apart.

This looks to be forming some kind of nakama… which is interesting.

Meh, after seeing this, Medaka Box lost its luster. I guess I wanted it to be more Zenkichi x Medaka fluff.
