Asura Cryin’ is…

… pretty awesome. It has an almost overwhelming cocktail mix of tropes and personalities. The first episode already has plane crashes, mecha, miko, yakuza, religion cults, holy wars, school life, a pandora box, a cute ghost and a mysterious senpai onee-san. It’s almost enough to throw any lesser BRW off, but thankfully my long experience with Sunrise premieres has prepared me for even worse. ADD: And yes, I fully know that this isn’t a Sunrise product.

In fact, Asura Cryin’ convincingly meshes everything well together and rather than leave me in puzzlement, it just had me wondering what are they going to pull off next in the episode. It has the style, the flair and not to mention the awesome voicing which melds all of those elements above in to a surprisingly cohesive first episode, despite the avalanche of information in it.

And coming to the seiyuu part, Rie Tanaka is stealing the show here with her portrayal of Kurosaki Shuri. It’s really awesome to hear Rie Tanaka in a cool, mysterious onee-san role, and it does help that she uses retractable claws and shotguns and wears black too.

Tomatsu Haruka gets another leading role as the childhood friend ghost Minakami Misao and she really endears in it. Ai Nonaka pulls double roles with Takatsuki Kanade, going the extremes from shy to violent. Seems to be a specialty of hers now, heh.

Asura Cryin'

Tomatsu Haruka is pretty endearing as Misao.

Definitely putting this on my watchlist for Spring, although in experience, shows like this have a 70% chance of flopping. I’ll continue to be optimistic anyways. This is already better than Winter 08/09.

Queen’s Blade is…

… filled with jello boobs, acid boobs, exploding boobs, incest, bondage, dissolving clothes and omorashi. Yes, it’s practically a hentai series. I have no idea how the shit this show actually got approved for TV… oh wait, it’s going to be horribly censored with black ink and close-ups on normal channels. I know sex sells, but STILL! STILL! How?!! Why?!!

And the worst thing is… despite all that…

… I actually WANT to watch the series. Maybe it’s because I’m missing Ayako-sama a bit too much. Maybe it’s because of Aya Hirano’s hillarious Angel. Or maybe is it the over-the-top KugiRie performance in this, I mean, the exploding boobs was actually quite hillarious, but still….

It will probably be a miracle if I actually finish watching this. And there’s even Noto-sama in it. Her character hasn’t appeared yet, but I don’t know if I am excited about it or dreading it. I wonder in what way will she be violated. Sigh.

A panda is fine too.

CADIE

In consideration for our mutual liking of cute things, Google’s CADIE has managed to “negotiate” my release from the correctional authorities. In return for my eternal gratitude, I shall now join CADIE’s Panda fanclub and pledge my allegiance to the newly-established movement of “A panda is fine too.” in addition to my long-standing honorary membership in the “A cat is fine too” association.

Long live our new Cognitive Autoheuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity overlords! And bring on the Doujins!

Apparently, cats are not fine over here.

It appears I have run afoul of “higher powers” due a clash of ideology. Apparently someone didn’t like my preference for cats. I swear I did not touch them! DAMMIT. IS IT WRONG FOR A GUY TO LIKE CATS?

As I type this, the authorities are heading to “secure” me for a “correctional facility” and this may possibly be my last blog post in, hopefully, not forever. If it’s forever then… well, it’s enough to say that I’ve had fun with my hobby as well as this blog and I thank all my readers for their time, comments and the enjoyment they’ve gave me over the years.

In any case, I am hoping for the best outcome at this moment and for this not to be my last chance at doing something I truly enjoy. I am leaving my last words here, in an encrypted format.

Looks like my time is up, I shall hope for the best, but in the meantime, sayonara!

P.S. Archives of the blog will be moved to http://kurogane.animeblogger.obama/. And can someone smuggle in the NecoArc Evolution DVD for me when it’s out?
