Four years too late.

Okay, actually three years if you consider that Eureka 7 ended in 2006.

Yes, I’ve finally finished watching Eureka 7 after that long. I kinda stopped around episode 35 (please don’t go looking back at my old Eureka 7 posts, I beg you) due to various fansub faggotry(remember Nanashi?) and kinda forgot about finishing the show off. Only recently did I get a complete copy of the Eureka 7(DVD source to boot!) and I’ve just finished it.

Negima! 247

Mahou Sensei Negima!

My jaw… f*cking dropped. Seriously. God damn it Negi, that is sum serious hax thar.

From double lightning absorption, close-quarters combat at lightning speed (should’ve done that from the start), his original spell ‘Titanslayer’ (damn that lightning Lance looks so awesome), luring Rakan in to a contest of strength to ABSORB his power and using it all to deal a final blow to him. Holy shit Negi, holy shit. Even Evangeline looked surprised.

Oh god I can’t wait for the next chapter.

Tears to Tiara is…

… HAHAHAHAHAHA LOL SO DRAMATIC!!!

Well, for me and those who have played through the game, the anime sure does make the awakening scene extra melodramatic. But it’s not bad, not bad at all.

Man I can’t wait to watch the next episode now. And Riannon really has some FABULOUS hat in this version. Much prefer the original version actually. Arthur too. He kinda looks like a girl if you look at him from the wrong angles.

Pizza Hut in my Soaring Cake

Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo

Heh, good to see even Pizza Hut’s in Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo. As expected from Sunrise, they lurve their pizzas.

On another note, plot getting thicker and thicker in Sorakake. Srsly, the first good (in a positive way) series from Sunrise in a while. I am surprised to learn that Honoka is >50 years old orz.

Shangri-La is…

… Al-Gore sponsored anime? It’s a show that has carbon tax levied on all nations, carbon credit hedge funds and a fucking Carbon Police. Not to mention the eyerape of okama supporting leads, one of which uses whips and kisses to disarm opponents and suspiciously sounds like Jouji Nakata. The credits only write ♥♥♥ for the role… but if it’s true.. OH DEAR GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

… I need some time to recover from this show.

Saki is…

… moe moe yuri mahjong. Okay well, that IS to be expected, ahaha.

First episode follows the manga pretty well, not much difference here. Seeing them animated is fun though, with the seiyuus doing a nice job of their characters. With such an all-star cast (Kana Ueda, Ami Koshimizu, Itou Shizuka, Jun Fukuyama, Rie Kugimiya, Miyuki Sawashiro Ryoko Shiraishi) it’s kinda hard to go wrong so fast there.

The mahjong parts are as dramatic as expected, especially in the last part with the 70 minipoint 2 fan hand by Saki there. In fact it makes a bigger impact than in Akagi mainly because they aren’t taking mahjong as SRSBSNS, since no one’s drawing blood or betting fingers.

I’m still having reservations about Gonzo doing this anime, and you can kinda see the QUALITY of the animation pretty clearly. It’s probably the most terrible looking show I’ve seen so far of Spring 09, especially with the failure of the animation for Nodoka’s boobs at times.

And speaking of them….

Saki!

Those boobs those boobs those boobs those boobs those boobs those boobs those boobs those boobs those boobs those boobs

Tayutama is…

… pretty damn cute. But not sickly cute nor trying-too-hard-to-be-cute cute. In short, I’m lovin’ it! Plus, it has a non-fail-non-wimpy male lead for a start, so it’s getting off to be pretty damn enjoyable. I still lol’ed at how cute those “tayutai” are though… despite them being supposedly maligned to humans and stuff.

Norio Wakamoto as the lead’s (Yuuri) father is fucking hillarious though, since it’s been a while since I’ve seen him doing a non-SRSBSNS role (ex. Charles “ALL HAIL BRITTANIA”). Itou Shizuka is also in the show and the rest of the cast puts on a solid act so I’m going to enjoy this show if it keeps it up.

Story-wise, I do hope they can do it properly, since it does sound a bit contrived with the whole bit about finding a future where humans and spirits can coexist. But then again I think I’m going to watch this for the harem-jinks entertainment more than for the story anyways… still I hope it’s to a level that I am not disgusted away.

Full Metal Alchemist is…

… a Sunrise show now?! Oops, sorry, it’s still BONES right? I nearly got thrown off by the spoiler-tastic YUI OP, gSS speedsubbing it and Lockon (Shinichiro Miki) + Ali (Kenji Fujiwara) combo of Maes and Roy. So weird to hear them playing best friends after just wrapping up a show where they were both enemies. That said, Shinichiro Miki just doesn’t match up to Toru Ohkawa. Roy’s supposed to sound GAR obnoxious, not bishie!

One great seiyuu change they made has to be Inoue Kikuko as Lust. Ooohhh, I got goosebumps just hearing her evil voice again as Lust at the end of the episode. Dunno how Winry will sound like though. Fumiko Orikasa’s Riza Hawkeye sounds much more sarcastic than serious in her only line of the episode, but it’s something that I might really like.

Overall, the first episode is pretty okay, with another anime-original plot to go with it as an introduction to the characters. They are still going to do it the flashback way though, with the second episode jumping immediately back to “that day”.

And glad to see ol’Armstrong still as FABULOUS as usual… ahaha~

Hayate 2nd season is…

…. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL MARATHON.

Yeah. They immediately started it off with the Freestyle Marathon arc. And to top it off, they totally reset the series timeline to the original manga, ignoring the “one year or so” of the first season. They’ve gotten it pretty faithful to the manga too. So yes, there’s Hinagiku getting ‘bullied’ by Hayate, ahahahaha~

Hayate no Gotoku

And to top it off, the ED is Hinagiku singing. With a montage of dere-dere Hinagiku shots. Yes. I am not kidding you. Fuck yeah. Looks like the producers have realized the true star of the series, wwwwwwwwwwww. H! I! N! A! HINAGIKU! Added the video here.

Also. MEIDO BLACK MAX HEART!

Hayate no Gotoku

Similarly. MEIDO WHITE MAX HEART!

Hayate no Gotoku

A good first episode, but I’ll reserve judgment on it. But if they continue on piling the Hinagiku on us… I think we might have a winner.

Phantom is…

… a Noir clone? It’s kinda obvious with the assasination scene at the end where they waited for like 2-3 mins after confronting the target before shooting him.

jinyamato says its cool, but I digress. Feels rather generic to me. But then again, nitroplus is writing for the show so it might get better later on. Till then, I think I’m giving this show a miss, at least maybe saving it for a batch marathon.

The KOKIA OP is okay, but not her best. ALI Project ED is kinda generic. Ayahi Takagaki fans will love this series I guess. It has her doing what she does best.
