Negima! 249

Finally, it’s over! And it ended with a draw, LOL WUT?

Human Atomic Bomb… HAHAHAHAHAHA. Natsumi just cracks me up. Good to see Rakan back to his old self as well.

And I was right, Evangeline WAS surprised by Negi’s skills. I wonder who was it that said she wasn’t… hmm.

And the girls finally get freed from the slave collars. For some reason the ceremony looks so…. indecent? Aahaha~.

But of course it’s not all good news. Negi IS suffering from such high-level application of Magia Erebea, although magic-scroll Eva does say it’s nothing to be worried about for the moment.

And finally…. who is this in the chapter title page. It seems really weird for them NOT be anyone important. They look similar to the bounty hunters cornering Nodoka earlier, but it doesn’t really look like them.

Anyways, Akamatsu is taking another break, predictably, so it’s another two weeks before we see 250.

Well, now that this fight is finally over, I wonder how many chapters we have left till a closure of this ARC and possibly the manga itself. The bets are ranging from 50 Chapters more to 300+. What do you guys think?

How quickly did Chimasternmay forget that Asuna and Anya are being held captive, there’s more than just the Yue plot line to tie up.

The first pic… Mhm, you know one of things I like about Akamatsu is, that he always seems to look and listen to his readers.
This remind me on Terry Pratchett…

Am I the only one that think there’s actually a little bit of foreshadowing going on when Rakan said Negi’s style makes him the type of person to die 3 chapters before the end of the story?

As expected, Magia Erebea has its cost. I wonder if Evangeline is immune, or if she doesn’t use it for that reason?

I assumed the center guy in that last page there was Zatsyev or whatever his name was.

It was mentioned early on /w Magia Erebea that it had a cost to it (not about to go back and find it, but probably as a warning before Negi took the scroll the first time).. so it is nice to see that Akamatsu hadn’t forgotten to bring that back into play.. I know I was reading the last few chapters wondering about that since nothing had happened… yet..

Negi is on fire! Stop, drop, and roll!!! I think Evangeline didn’t want to bother with the theorycraft of Magia Erebea since she can just spam gigantic beams in battle.

@Sniperk: Well if the 31-volume theory is true… and it does start to look like it can be done in by Chapter 300-310.

@Kikaifan, Kiryuu: Magia Erebea is a Dark element technique at its basis and Evangeline did say that using it too much will result in the user being consumed by it. By it’s basis, Magia Erebea collects the energy that spell casters accumulate, absorbs it to the body of the caster and the caster can use it to increase their abilities.

The best analogy would be computer overclocking. Sure you can increase the clockspeed by manipulating voltage and other modifiers, but you risk burning your processor or shortening its life in the process. That’s probably what may happen to the Magia Erebea user, in my opinion.

@Kabitzin: They mentioned that Evangeline initially developed the method back when she was still ‘young’ and most probably didn’t have the level of magic and experience as she had now. It’d probably be a perfect spell for her since she can take the backlash due to her own immortality and the benefit of powering up her child physique immediately.

Remember that even though she’s a shinso, her physical abilities are much closer to a child at its basis. It was stated quite early in the series, else wise no way in hell Negi could defeat her in volume 3.

Although now she can spam crazy wide-area effect spells now, it wouldn’t have been surprising for her to actually delve deep in the practical applications of Magia Erebea back when she was still ‘young’. Although I must say that using the magic absorption tactic will require a LOT of preparation as well as help to be done. Taking 43 seconds to cast that spell in a high level magic battle would be nearly suicide unless you have a REALLY good party at hand. It might take less time though, after practice.

I do wonder how long would Evangeline need to take to set up that spell for herself though. Frankly speaking it’s probably useless for her anyways, since there’s probably not many people alive that can actually match her level of magic.

i did not forget, i just think that they should finish tat yue meet up then head towards the rescue when they realize it. thats what me saying move on to fate kinda meant.

but i wonder if they would figure it out or would the only realize when they go to thier base and say eh wtf haha.
