Really a pretty good show and the ending wasn't all that bad. I guess the pairing problem really upset alot of people but it was a far better ending than the cliff-hanger from season 1. I was really disappointed with Neeba & Kaaya's betrayal. Seemed so out of place.

Anyway, the 2nd series gave pretty good motivations for everyone's actions. Kaaya's singular purpose in life was to free her father. Can anyone imagine what it was like to grow up with a father turned ruthless and somewhat evil. Neeba could not accept Jil's growth and success. His only solution was to become even greater, a god-like figure to prove his worth. When Jil arrived, he was left without a choice but to kill him. I really don't think it was something he wanted or planned for.

The ending felt really rushed and a bit contrived but that's what you get when you introduce a new plotline with only one episode to resolve. They could have easily made a third season giving Neeba a chance to turn completely evil. Since Gonzo is financially strapped any plans for a longer series is out of the question. Really too bad since this was enjoyable for a time and if not for this rushed ending, a good series.

Who knew that playing an obscure 5 year old PS2 game would be required to watch this show?

"Old Gonzo Anime=Somewhat good storyline and good ending.

New Gonzo Anime=Good beginning, lackluster story and FAIL ending.

AM I RIGHT?"

Agreed. Either things play out all too conveniently and conventionally (i.e. boring), or the thing just blows up in your face. That or Strike Witches. WTF

"CONGRATURATIONS!! NOW YOU SAVE URUK KINGDOM AND THE ADVENTURE IS OVER"

What a Gonzo-quality ending! It sure have failed us. Let's say that we want to play the original 1984 Arcade game instead of that upcoming MMORPG crap.

Succubus is Druaga's lover and consort, this is mentioned back in Aegis. She comes from the Nightmare of Druaga PS2 game and her backstory is in the game, so most people won't understand her motivations etc unless they read the condensed summary of Nightmare of Druaga story.

Kelb is wearing a kilt.

Gilgamesh is dead probably, they even had a funeral for him. Though Gil and Kai's spirit seems to be around still and the returning of the Blue Crystal Rod mention by Gil is actually a reference to 1 part of Nightmare of Druaga game.

Utu's proposal is a reference to the scene in Aegis ep 12, where they make as if he's gonna confess but instead WHAT A TWEEST happens and he tells the scary story. in Sword they reversed it and this time actually make Utu ask about marriage instead of telling a scary story.

If people actually paid attention to Aegis and Sword, everything is explained clearly. Instead most of the discussions on the INTERNETS is ruined by butthurt FATinafags' shipping faggotry when their ship sunked even before it left the harbour(Meskia). The show isn't True Tears or Toradora or Imoutits shipping faggotry, so most people missed all the subtle details since they didn't pay any attention.
