Toradora! 24

Finally, the two admit their feelings for each other. GJ, Ryuji!

But their trials aren’t over yet, as parental problem comes up. Yasuko discovers that Ryuji is working part-time, despite her ban on it, and Ryuji explodes when she insists that he should be studying seriously. On Taiga’s side, her father’s business failed, so her mom wants to take her back in, but Taiga refuses since her mother has already remarried with someone, and is even expecting a baby too.

This leads to both of them deciding to elope, hiding out for two months until Ryuji turns 18 and he can legally take Taiga in as his wife. Kitamura and the rest help out too. However, things take a turn when Ryuji returns home to a message from Yasuko, telling him to go find his grandparents to understand things and Ryuji decides to go find them and really discover what happened and not “run away” again.

Finally the love-triangle drama is over and Toradora moves to tie up all the other loose ends. It’s great that the show just doesn’t suddenly end with Taiga and Ryuji finally admitting their real feelings for each other and pull a “happily ever after” end, instead going to resolve the family problems that Taiga and Ryuji has had always have.

On the other hand, Minorin was really great in this week’s episode. I’d expected her to break down during the health room scene at the beginning after Ryuji leaves to go find Taiga, but in the end, she broke down after Taiga and Ryuji leave Ami’s house. And Ami~n is really strong too, since I’d expect both of them to start bawling or something, but in the end, she didn’t.

Anyways, one more episode left! Let’s see how things will be resolved.

Minori is the most grown up person in the show in my opinion. It’s going to suck when Toradora! is finished. I want another season, showing them afterward. No shows really go into what happens after a couple is formed, most series end with

    “Oh, I love you!”
    “Oh, I love you too!”

(one exception being Clannad: After Story)

Gah, I’m so stoked for next week’s episode….but also not because it’s the last. D:
I’ve honestly enjoyed Toradora! and it takes a lot to get me excited about a show… hehe. Go Ryuuji and Taiga! ^^

I’m totally interested to learn about the family situation, though… :O

Technically, they still haven’t confessed, which means the kiss and what follows after are omitted. Who’s the one who decided this?

I would take Ryuji’s declaration of Taiga as his bride at the very end of the episode when he introduces himself to his grandparents as a strong confession of love.

Oh god I loved this episode… speaking of last episode though… did anyone see 2 characters in the preview who look oddly similar if not are… the main characters from the spin off novel of ToraDora :D

  6. Peanutbutter003 Said,

    March 20, 2009 @ 4:35 pm

@Kurogane: Well, it’s not to each others’ face, so I don’t count that as a real confession.

@Anon: Tomiie and Sakura have already appeared in Ep 14.

AMi-n never had any real strong feelings for the doragon….. merely a liking…. whereas Minori-n was literally head over the heels nutjob whacked up in deep shit in love for that bakayarou….. so…. in the end Minorin is the loser, and gets to have hot yuri sex with Amin…. we will see it in ToraDora: the fate of the unloved

  8. shaoron Said,

why… do i suddenly feel like there’s going to be a wave of “Minorin-Amin* call coming in?

I love the way this turned out, but there’s one thing that’s really getting at me, the fact that there highschool life is over, and they’re entering the real-world. Well it’s like that for me anyways as I’m currently in my last year of Highschool so I’m experiencing the exact same thing, and I’m very much regretting it. :(

Everything happened rather quickly in this episode… I was wondering if I was watching the right show.

Minori was pretty good in this episode, and now she has a new BFF in Ami lol.

*sigh* It figures that my favorite character, Minorin, decided to “let” Taiga have Ryuji. Of course, we could see that coming from a mile away, but I was hoping against hope that Toradora would do the unexpected, but alas, it’s always the “main” girl who gets the guy (unfortuantely, that’s rarely the person who fits the guy best, deserves the guy the most, and/or even in some cases, is even the person the guy really likes, which is what I would rather argue in this case, despite Ryuji’s statements to the contrary.)

  14. Kaisos Said,

Taiga definitely likes Ryuuji the most, fits him the best, and deserves him the most.

You want something unexpected and different? Go watch Shuffle.

  15. Seravi Said,

    March 21, 2009 @ 9:37 am

Who likes Ryuuji the most is up for debate. I guess Taiga expressed it the strongest. But then, I think of her as a very selfish person. With that, I do not think she deserves him the most ^_^

But hey, I liked the ending of Shuffle :D

  16. Bayonette Said,

Man, I hope the last episode will wrap up the story since the novel version (where the anime was adapted from) has already finished on March 10.

  17. Kaisos Said,

    March 21, 2009 @ 3:27 pm

They have one more episode for like a chapter and a half of material, pretty much.

    They’re perfectly fine.

it was honestly winning me over up until the part where the President left, but the insane amount of melodrama and overly suppressed emotions are RIDICULOUS. and when the emotions do come pouring out, THE CHARACTERS REACT IN THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE. i hate how it’s trying to insert significance and gravity in teenage high school love… just give me the light-hearted fluff. toradora is taking itself way too seriously..and it’s FAILING

  19. Brian Said,

    March 22, 2009 @ 2:53 am

    This show sucks now.

I hope Minorin goes on a rampage with all that pent-up emotional shit she has going on in there and decides to hunt every character down one by one, and executes them. This show was good when it was all just fun slice of life hilarious interactions between the characters, but now that they’ve completely ruined the show. I hope everyone dies. Except Ami just because she’s hot.. also who the f does Takasu think he is?

The only characters I like anymore are Ya-chan and Ami.

  20. Kaisos Said,

    March 22, 2009 @ 3:04 am

Everyone here is just so angry.

I can name the people who still openly like this show on three hands. It’s pretty funny, actually.

What were you guys honestly expecting, at this point?

  21. Jobrill Said,

    March 22, 2009 @ 7:11 am

I openly like the show. In fact, I downright love it. Then again, I wasn’t expecting anything but Taiga/Ryuji (Even if Ami is probably my favorite girl), and I’m happy to see they actually have hurdles to overcome and family issues to address.

  22. trees Said,

I wouldn’t say that these two are the best of matches, but we’ll have to see…

  23. JJK Said,

Yo i hate everyone complainin bout this
Toradora is an amazing show and one of the best animes ive seen in a while
i think the development is awesome and the situations are dramatic
the director makes it so much more interesting and the art is great
so everyone who naggs about this should go watch naruto or sumthin

  25. LULZ Said,

To be honest I wanted a 3 way deathmatch between the 3 girls. Then all 3 will die and Ryuji will finally exclaim: “Thank God it’s over. Now let me bang the chick with orange hair.”

If that ain’t an award winning story then I don’t know what is.

  26. Kaisos Said,

    March 22, 2009 @ 4:55 pm

Well, Maya IS hot. And Ai Nonaka. And hot.

So I guess that ending would be acceptable.

  27. Seratil Said,

    March 22, 2009 @ 8:50 pm

hum, i liked Ami but i just thought of something, SHE HASN’T CONFESSED TO ANYONE. I hope she will confess to Ryuuji next ep, i mean, ye know, then that’s finally settled too!

  28. Ipsod Said,

    March 23, 2009 @ 8:16 am

Wow, I didn’t expect someone else to hope that Kihara was paired with Ryuuji. I was hoping for a left field development like that, but we all know this ain’t Shuffle!.
