Negima! 244

Negima!

Oh trust Rakan to use an attack named after the opponent on them. Isn’t it ironic, Negi?

Negima!

Rakan NEVER forgets to pay back his “debts”, iykwim.

SUDDENLY, AKO HIJACK!

Negima!

SHOCK! Nagi is actually Negi?!! (Addendum: That slave trader guy is such a bastard)

Negima!

And back to the main topic, how is Negi gonna counter Rakan now that his Lightning speed has been nullified.

A couple of chapters ago, Rakan is the punching bag. This chapter, Negi is the punching bag.

We all know that either Negi will win, or it will turn out that winning the tournament was not important, so I expect one more chapter of Ako introspection before the end of this match.

I would guess that Negi’s winning move would be either to take advantage of Rakan’s idiocy, or to use Rakan’s techniques against him. (Like using a Negi Fever?)

That Negi Fever was unexpected :D

Funny how Eternal Negi Fever was created by Jack when he was testing out a bunch of “finishing moves”, deciding on the names and which to teach Negi. And Negi was the one who was pondering about finishing moves, which, in turn, made Jack to create those moves in the first place.

Second story will begin with chapter 246? If so, then 245 is going to be the end of the three story (chapter 243-245), meaning the match too? Then there’s no way Negi is going to win. Negi had the right idea with going for the unimaginable speed route since even Jack can’t handle such speed. And he was right. Too bad Jack has experience with lightning and overcame even that.

The outcome aside, what will happen to Shiori-Asuna? Obviously something is going to happen. A setup by Fate? Like… killing Shiori-Asuna, creating the illusion that with her death, Fate and co. won’t disturb Negi’s group anymore. But that also creates an issue with revenge on Negi’s side.

    Like Giga Drill Breaker…
With nothing more than sheer awesomness and manliness!!! XXDD

But I am surprised… Rakan´s explanation actually makes sense!!
    What will Negi do now?

Why does Negi need to succumb to the threat of the slave trader. Negi has ties with the princess of Hellas Empire, the senator of Megalomesembrian and the President of the Aridadne Knights.

And even if they did send a few hundred law enforcers after Negi and Co. it is not like Negi can’t get out of it. And I bet Rakan would help just to get his match with Negi. Lol.

Negi is gonna go rambo on rakan… .i can smell the up coming action…. and can someone tell Ken that his assistants need to lighten up on the backgrounds…
also… i think a “depowered negi” (ie in his kid form) will work better against rakan’s attacks… and then he is going to rape the slave trader badly….. oh that will be satisfying….

    @Jonathan
At least as far as recent events goes, Negi’s been pretty consistent about taking the option handed to him, instead of thinking of others. Before this, there was continuing the tournament instead of just asking those same political bigshots to free Ako & co, before that there was almost taking Fate’s offer, before that was entering the tournament instead of first confirming there was no way to break a slave collar…

I think Negi will stand but up again after Ako starts screaming for him to get up. Them he will do something crazy like absorbing a bunch of spells not just the 1000 bolds and kick the shit out of Rakan

… and since when was Ako that busty? I don’t recall her being quite so… developed. Not compared to her roommate Chizuru. I guess the magic world does something to their development, or somesuch.

Also, since Negi’s gotten Super Saiyan hair, any bets on how long before we see an ‘over 9000’ quote somewhere in the series?

    @Haesslich

She was so-so. It’s a fanservice page, it’s just a little more loving than usual.

Super Saiyan hair? Negi always had that kind of hair. It looks different because he isn’t wearing his usual ponytail. But his hair has been down like that several times already, since 200-ish chapter. It isn’t new. He has used the lightning Magia Erebea twice in the past. They all look the same, and give him the same effect. Just, this time, Negi is using the age pill, which makes him look older and rough..

Pretty sure the over 9000 joke has been done already with Rakan’s self-proclaimed 12000 several chapters back.

Definitely ways for Negi to still pull out a win. If he just created multiple paths for the lightning to follow he’d remove a lot of the telegraphing element that Rakan’s using to hand him his ass right now.

That said, I prefer that Negi not win. I like a series where there still exist legends that are out of the main character’s reach. I suppose there’s always still Evangeline, since she can use the Magia Erebea too, but losing Rakan (and by extension probably the rest of Ala Rubra) as a legendary overclass of characters would make the setting a bit more boring to me.

HE DID IT! HE FINALLY DID IT! As for the slave trader, I foresee Ricardo and a bunch of Men-in-Black rounding up on him and threatening to cut his balls off. Or maybe Ako will drown him in curry again.

so according to the above onemanga link, negi’s current defense is currently non existant, so shouldn’t he switch to dark mode if speed’s not gona help ?

I think its more of Negi would stand up while he’s unconscious and beat the hell out of Rakan. It is possible right?

just a suggestion please suggest if you have any ideas:

Probably one of the most simple solutions would be to fire of a couple lightning arrows to confuse rakan.

also i think a cantus bellax would also help in the thinking part but i’m not sure as to whether that would be possible with lightning absorbtion aswell.

also to confuse rakan further chuck some wind magic around to confuse the “Old Hand” skills.

also on the offensive he said he can cast many more arrows than when he fought takamichi so if he combines that with riashou shundo he could unleash a leet tackle attack XD…that is all ¬¬ *cough*
