This was one of the best episodes of the year next to episode 16. So much shit happened……wait I’m a heterosexual male, so why the fuck do I like this show so much?

Yeah, I’ve been doing my best to analyze Minorin’s emo mode lately. The character interaction between Ami and Minorin (or Ami and anyone for that matter…) is really where this show shines in my eyes. Ami’s scenes are completely different than any others in the anime, which is why I love her character.

Takasu is okay and all but he’s no Kyon.

Man, this episode sealed my opinion of Ami. I thought I’d come to like Ami eventually, but her constant sarcastic remarks makes me irritated. At first, she came off as just a smart-alec which I didn’t mind. But now it’s just her being bitter.

This anime continues to amaze me.
Few series have made me laugh aloud one moment, and then groan, “oh no, this is bad”.
“Bad for Ryuuji, Bad for Taiga, Bad for Ami, Bad for Minori, Bad for Kusheida.
Jeex, why doesn’t everyone just come out and say it?”
Of course, that would simply make Toradora another one of the predictable romance stories that are seen pretty much everywhere. The characters act in flawed, human ways, and don’t ‘come out and say it’ because of the very human fear of being hurt.
I get goosebumps.
This episode, I give 5/5.

I think part of Ami’s blowup goes beyond her like of Ryuuji, to what she hates in herself… and which Minori’s been unconsciously mimicking the pas while with her cheerful airhead persona, which is as much a mask these days as Ami’s nice girl act. So here’s Minorin apparently getting away with doing the thing that Kitamura pushed Taiga and Ryuuji onto Ami to stop… and SNAP. The fact she doesn’t like what this is doing to Ryuuji, given that she likes him as well, means she’s got even more of an excuse to lash out and get Minorin to show her true face to Ryuuji and Taiga, the one hiding behind the ‘I’ll push Ryuuji towards Taiga and pretend nothing’s wrong’ persona.

I don’t think it’s really a strategy. She likes Ryuuji, but doesn’t have his attention. He dotes on Taiga almost like a daughter or little sister, and secretly loves Minorin. She’s jealous, and acting a bit catty despite how mature all the other characters (except Ryuuji) think she is. Right now, it looks like she’s just lashing out at a rival. I started watching this show simply because it was hilarious. I never expected it to get this deep, and now I’m doubly glad to have been watching it.
