Toradora! 19

Toradora!

It’s a night of heartbreaks all around. Ami~n’s words last week are beginning to come true.

At the least Minorin’s rejected Ryuji, so we’ll have to see what direction the show will move in to next week. But 19 is definitely a very emotional episode. I’m at a loss of words to talk about it, so just watch the episode yourself.

One thing’s for sure, Taiga ;_;.

P.S. Taiga all dolled up kinda resembles Hagu a bit, don’tcha think?

Most people have interpreted Taiga’s realization of not wanting to be separated from Ryuuji as ‘love’. If it is, I think it was poorly set up.

I don’t think Taiga’s realization of ‘love’ for Ryuuji was portrayed strongly by her actions. If she really loved him to the point of not letting him go, she would have chased him to the school. It happens all the time in love stories, do check. She’s been pushing Ryuuji to pair up with Minori, and her late realization ruined everything she’s built up for the two of them. She’s the reason why Minori lost her usual cheerful self, and I think Ryuuji and Taiga would be better off just being friends than lovers. If the author says otherwise, I wouldn’t like it. That’s my personal opinion.

I myself am rooting for MinoriXRyuuji, but I don’t like how Minori is currently acting. I think they would pair up great with each other, and they would feel more like a couple than TaigaXRyuuji or AmiXRyuuji ever would. I think no one would have been hurt if Minori was already together with Ryuuji at this point. Ami wouldn’t be questioning the relationships Ryuuji has with them, and Taiga wouldn’t have this ‘realization’.

I haven’t read the light novels, but from the info I’ve been able to stumble upon, I don’t think I’d get the pairing I want. T_T

Or she could’ve just called his cell. Wouldn’t of been dramatic that way though.

bah… the novels are probably gonna pull some deux ex machina shit on us….
Translations are now up to pace with the anime. so expect spoilers only from those who read the originals, not bakatsuki. Also, I see many good things to come…..
but from whom? i do not know….

I’m glad Minori made up her mind. No RyujixMinori fling but at least she can move on. Let’s hope that Ryuji doesn’t stay in emo mode for too long.

The Taiga scene was the best moment thus far in the series.

    @Typhosentra
Lol that’s right, she could have, but yes running out the door without shoes on and wailing in the streets has much more dramatic flair.

Hagu was completely clueless about relationships, or the fact she even liked someone – Taiga doesn’t have that problem. Plus, Hagu was far, far more autistic than Taiga is, and had issues interacting with anyone outside of Takemoto, Ayu, and Shuuji…

Well since the Honey X Clover team is involved with this anime. (Just look at the 2nd opening of the anime save them cost to put the budget into the incoming episodes instead).

Hagu resembles Taiga is totally dolled up.

The victor is always the one who take care of Hagu/Taiga most of the time.

I’m one of those tsundere/loli supporters. So, I hope there is a ‘happy’ ending even if she doesn’t end up with Ryuuji or anybody. The ending song was very fitting and I wish every character the best possible outcome.

Read the novels. She only rejected him because she knew that Taiga loved him. And it won’t be too long before Taiga finds out about that.

From now on you should call the show “Dramadora” or “Emodora”. Fun time is over.

I still don’t see a romantic attachment from Ryuuji to Taiga. The other way around I can see, now that Taiga overcame her feelings for Kitamura. But Ryuuji in love with Taiga is difficult to believe for me. He seems to act out of pity because Taiga is lonely rather than because of love. I think that Ami’s metaphor of playing house is spot on.
I hope that the author will make me change my mind with the last few chapters otherwise I would not feel satisfied with the main couple.

Am I the only one rooting for Ami? ;_; She deserves more air time, she’s such a great and complex character >_>

    @Typhonsentra
Didn’t Ryuuji forget his cell phone? He says so, while waiting for Minori at the school entrance.

Anyway, imho: the relationships atm are… complex – Taiga is drawn to Ryuuji, because she’s gotten used to the fact that he’s around and was ‘playing’ the role of the Daddy. Minori is going emo instead of talking with anyone – I understand that she’s torn between her feelings for Ryuuji and her friendship/bond/we with Taiga, but still, her behaviour right now pisses me off. Ami is playing the bro for the moment, but I wonder how long will she be able to keep it up… I hope she will now jump in, now that Minori rejected Ryuuji :P

As for Ryuuji, I always see him treating Taiga as a daughter – he cares for her a great deal, but a romantic relationship between them doesn’t seem ‘right’ to me :/

    tl;dr: Ami, go for it~ ;3

Damn, sorry for the double/triple post ;;OTL

PS: Here’s a solution to the current situation: http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/338969/
Minori x Taiga, Ryuuji x Ami \o/ Everyone is happy :D

Hmm, well Ryuuji would end up with Taiga right?

Otherwise the anime wouldn’t be called ToraDora??

    lol Ohwell.

  14. Thehappycamper Said,

It may be called “Toradora!” but really, it doesn’t have to end with “Toradora”.

If not done well, a RyujixTaiga ending is gonna be awkward and out of place, since right now its a one-sided love. Hopefully, the author can pull a twist and make that pairing feasible.

True, at the moment, the portrayal of Taiga actually ‘in love’ with Ryuuji, is not well done, it just seems as if they’re more of the point forwarding the aspect that Taiga “needs” him rather than love.

But the plot of this is very cliched, two people that get together to help each other achieve their lovers, yet they end up falling in love? It’s so cliched it’s almost ironic. So if it didn’t turn out to be a ToraDora ending, it would be very strange, since looking at the title, the couple has been decided from the start, but at the moment, but if it ended now with the toradora pairing…it would still be strange because they haven’t got across the point that they do actually love each other and have feelings for each other, there’s a lot deeper to go, so I agree with you on that.

    How is that cliched?

I don’t see that very often at all. Only other thing I can think of is Lovely Complex…

The scene that is shown in the picture and Taiga then running out for Ryuuji is the best scene in the anime. I have watched the whole show and that whole scene is amazing.
