Starting on Blassreiter

Watching Blassreiter now. Gave it a miss when it was running mainly because it was Gonzo + hearing tons of bad things about the CG. However, the presence of Itou Shizuka in the show made sure it stayed in my mind and I’m glad now, because it’s quite a good show, unexpectedly. Well then again, Gonzo nearly always does well in the first half of their shows…

Despite that, it’s pretty worth watching the show for Amanda. Itou Shizuka doesn’t disappoint. Another surprise is hearing Kana Hanazawa as Elea, Joseph’s companion. She loves stressing the word “utsukushii” doesn’t she?

Hopefully Blassreiter won’t disappoint. Having Nitroplus onboard gives me some measure of assurance.

Yup, Blassreiter is a good show. Amanda being one of the very good parts about it.

From what I saw it didn´t dissapoint. But that all depends on what you imagine will happen. That pretty much decides what you´ll think of Blassreiter.

In my opinion, really good show.

Blassreiter was a decent show, although the ending was underwhelming. Yeah it’s worth watching the show just for Amanda… and Beatrice too.

Like the rest, I agree it was decent, it was a Gonzo ending as expected, but Amanda made it worthwhile and so did some of the mecha and bikes. It also had some of the better EDs and one of the best OPs for me of 2008.

yeah, the second OP was very nice, and the EDs are pretty decent as well. The first OP wasn’t bad either really.

I remember when everyone who recommended to give Blassreiter a try was laughed at quite alot…

I’d put it this way. It had one of the best catastrophe runs in the middle I’ve seen in anime, absolutely awesome. It couldn’t quite hold this level in the second half, but still remained perfectly enjoyable. And the ending – it’s controversial, but I’ve seen GONZO do much much worse.

And yea, Amanda alone would be way enough to justify watching this show, Shizuka Itou doctrine in action ;) … fortunately, there’s a bit more to offer than that.

Yeah, I was WTF!? when Mentar recommended it to me. But his Shizu-sama Geass was powerful enough to draw me in and I don’t regret it one bit. A fun ride and, as you said, Amanda was pure pleasure to watch and listen to.

I watched the first two episodes, and they were pretty laughably bad :S

I started it for Shizuka Itou and how cool/hot amanda’s char design was 8D but then… i never got past episode 1? 2? :x might pick it up again in the future

Blassreiter is like a Passion of the Christ Kamen Rider. It does not disappoint for the most part.

I actually liked the funky designs- But disliked the horrible English names, and the pointless battles that went nowhere. LOL’ed at the final battle, though; That’s *definently* Nitro+.

For some reason, despite the sheer awesomeness of the setting, the show never *quite* kicks off; I loathed Zargin, overpowered Mary Sue he was, but the problem’s addressed nicely at the end.
