Toradora! 14

Toradora’s back! Yay! One week w/o it made me realise how much I’ve sorely missed it and how much this show has really took root in my heart.

Two weeks has passed since the last episode, but it’s only days after the culture festival in the show and rumors are spreading around of the “Shiawase Tenori Taiga” legend; whoever touches Taiga will have extremely good luck and windfalls upon them, especially in love and fortune, and suddenly everyone wants to molest touch Taiga to get a shot at happiness too. Ryuuji actually finds its ironic since Taiga’s just been let down by that asshole of her dad (again too!) earlier. Of course, he slowly realises that Taiga’s already really happy with the present situation now.

Episode 14 is usually marks some turning points and this episode most of the characters do hint of that. Minorin’s still Minorin, but it seems she’s starting to take notice of Ryuuji’s feelings now, in a more serious way. Kitamura’s crush on the student council president also seems to have reached a certain stage too, since she told him something important off-screen this episode and the preview for the next one is Kitamura-centric.

Ami too has some turning points, and oh god I realise the most anticipated parts of the show for me is the “Ami moments” between her and Ryuuji. Oh hell, she even blushed this episode, when Ryuuji hands her packs of meat as a sign of him worrying about her. But it’s funny that just earlier on her friend commented that with her adult charms, no men can resist her, yet she’s actually in love with the guy who’s not seeing her as that at all. I find that somehow painful. Reminds me of certain Mikako Takahashi characters, hurrr. (Bonus points if you know whom I mean)

I wonder where she is touching…..

I love these Ami moments.

I particularly found the short music cues when Taiga and Minorin had lines that needed some dramatic “oomph” but end abruptly pretty hilarious. I guess it’s something you tend to laugh at if one plays or writes music themselves.

Yeah, I had Ayumi and Ayumu (damn, even their names are so similar!) in mind. Ami’s biggest difference from them though is that she isn’t the sweet girl type. Bonus points for both Manowarr and The_Observer :D.

@…: Yeah, now that you mention it, I did forget that. Too entranced with blushing Ami :O :O :O.

This episode featured characters from the Side-Stories novel (Tomiie and Sakura, I’ll admit I only know this cause of the wikipedia article). They were pretty cute.

Gotta love how this episode ended. With Kitamura, Minori, and Ami all reflecting on the same thing.

The blushing for any of the characters in Toradora is really pulled off well. They all look damn cute. I’m also getting entranced by that shot of Ami.

“I wonder where she is touching…..”

    Have you read the novels?
In the second one Minorin touches Taiga’s rear (as a joke) and Ryuji comments that they are harrasing him
