Ga-Rei Zero 12

Ga-Rei Zero

BAWWWWWWWWWWWWW YOMI!!!!! T_T

The sad thing about prequels is that we already know what’s going to happen and we can’t do shit about it. God I hate that bloody shota.

The end of the episode also jumps 2 years later, just to tease us, and we get to see Fujiko, the new supervisor as well as Ga-Rei’s hero, Kensuke Nimura finally. Recycled Kazuki’s seiyuu for him, hurr hurr. Also shat bricks to find out that Kiri and Jinguji didn’t die. Thought they were dead for sure. Kiri even has amnesia to accompany her survival!

Ga-Rei Zero

Wonder if this will lead to a Ga-Rei anime?

Comic Fiesta 2008 Day 2

Dear god all you Danny Choo fans, that was obviously a joke! Of course Danny himself won’t be coming here! Nevertheless, it was an awesome cosplay idea. I’d personally be laughing my arse off happy if someone decided to cosplay me as a joke.

Anyways, CF 2008 Day 2.

If last year’s major gripe was the tight corridors/traffic jams, this year’s CF’s major gripe is definitely the hall lighting. Sunway’s exhibition center is a HORROR for anyone trying to take good portrait shots. Totally gave up on trying to get action shots.

The major event, the solo cosplay competition this year got a pretty good turnout of 55 participants. 8 finalists were chosen to do the Dice of Shame. Pretty standard fare, this year actually, but the finalists were very good at doing whatever embarrassing task they got so it was pretty entertaining overall. In the end, Sheryl Nome cosplayed by Skye won the competition while Nemesis and Yuna each got an honorable mention. Expected but quite fair results.

The day also had a bunch of performances by cosplayers. Afternoon had a bunch of dances, but the one that stood out was the “Go my way!” dance team. Later in the evening, Mizuki, Skye and Pato(sp?), Rika and deru(HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!) went up stage and sung songs to entertain the crowd, ranging from Antoinette Blue(?), Chouwa Oto (oh yes KOKIA’s song.), Iteza Gogo Kyuji, Diamond Crevasse and finally capping it with Lion. Kinda pity Skye since she sounded like her voice was about to give way already. Good entertainment nonetheless.

Speaking of entertaining, emcee Alfred wore a SKIRT today. A skirt. Like LOL. A bunch of girls were actually asking for it too, LOL. Today’s crowd was surely very un-PG13 since the word “lolicon” even got tossed around loudly.

Cosplayers wise, OH WOW THE LACK OF NARUTO AND BLEACH WAS REALLY NOTICEABLE. Okay i know those shows are popular, but seriously I am more than sick enough of seeing them. Instead, it seems the gothloli trend is really flying here now with a LOT of girls coming in gothloli-style garb with some really pretty specimens. Interesting cosplays spotted today included the first MSLN series cosplay here, Yagami Hayate by Alicia, a Katamari Damacy character, a gothloli ver. of Hatsune Miku, Spiderman’s Doc Ock and even one Tianzi-Xingke pair. Of course there’s a ton more not mentioned here, just spouting the ones on the top of my head now.

Posting the pics after I sleep. Seriously need that now. Not to mention all my pictures need some serious de-noiseing. Low light = High ISO = Grainy picture ORZ ORZ ORZ.

Comic Fiesta 2008 Day 1

“So how was CF this year?”… is a question I probably will be asked a lot for the next few days.

Okay just came back from Day 1. Notes:

  • Hall’s awesome, but the lighting fucking sucks for photography. Bloody hell. Not to mention I was using a compact so it was literally HELL to get good, nicely exposed shots.
  • Odin’s Sphere group was awesome for the effort.
  • Alfred, the hamsap MC was back. Man, I thought he retired last year. Anyways, always good to have him back. He’s a real joker and crowd-entertainer.
  • Cosplayers this year are much more varied, though considering this is Day 1, I shouldn’t say that out first. I almost nearly never saw a Naruto cosplay this year! Kinda broke it because my friend stumbled in to his friend who was doing Naruto.
  • Doujin booth layouts are starting to look like Comiket….
  • Met good ol’ Darkshaunz again. A reader of mine from Penang also came down today too.
  • I actually had more fun in CF today than the whole of AFA 2008. Yes, it’s probably because of homeground advantage + Alfred’s hillarious antics.
  • Some things never change though. Like Malaysian time and Mr. Technical Problem. Guess it’ll always be a staple of Comic Fiesta, haha.
  • Group cosplay competition this year was sad. Really sad. Didn’t feel like any of the the four groups joining had put in any effort behind their… ‘skits’. Well, the sound system also wrecked whatever recordings they used so it was like kinda double whammy for them too. Let’s just hope the solo competition will see better participants.

Pictures after the jump. This are the few choice shots I chose out of the ones I took today.

Akane-iro goes for the (W)Incest end.

Akane-iro Somaru Saka

Well, yeah, as the title goes. Junichi went for his little sister instead of rich tsundere Yuuhi. It was pretty expected seeing how last week’s episode went.

I don’t disagree with it but they could’ve paced the last episode a bit better. Dragged out the “internal conflict” drama in Junichi quite a bit. The parents are still pretty damn “WTF?!” though.

Also according Guncannon™ Surveys, 65% of Japan went “GOOD END!”. What about you? Do you agree with this ending?

Comic Fiesta 2008 Advertisment

Wow, I couldn’t believe this day would come but…wow.

If this was made by the committee… yeah, it’s not bad. Short, quirky and funny.

Prince of Persia completed

Yeah, finally finished the game and collected all 1001 light orbs. Oh god the ending so BAAAAAAAAAAAAW I shat bricks. Now they’ll probably start remilking the franchise with this new characters.

Also unlocked the prototype skins. Prince looks less colorful but more buff. Elika’s skin = Storm (X-Men) LOL.

Now all we need is just the n**e mods for the game, hahahaha.

Toradora! 12

Toradora

Okay, I’m joining the Ami camp. This episode has really made me a convert to her cause awesomeness and beauty more like it. The clincher was her cheering up Ryuuji after he and Minorin had a fight and a continuation of how she defines her role in their relationship dynamics. Now I really wonder what she’s meaning when she says she’s “already further up the road” from Ryuuji in the context of how, where and when she says it. Man, you can read it in so many ways, it’s really ambiguous. Either we’re being taken for a ride or the director’s really playing us to his tune.

Toradora

Ah yes. Ryuuji and Minorin actually had a fight over the news of Taiga’s dad returning in her life. It was really a shock to see Minorin getting angry, partly because she rarely shows her true emotions with her facade of cheerfulness. This really humanises Minorin for me. The true subject of her anger is also worth mentioning, it seems as if Taiga’s dad has really made Taiga extremely sad before and Minorin was there to see or hear about it. I’m beginning to wonder what really happened in the Aisaka family.

And of course… there was the really random performance by 2-C. Man, those twintails really doesn’t suit Ami for some reason…

Prince of Persia

God damn, I’m addicted to the game now. It’s… pure platforming fun. Sure you can’t die and the battle system can be annoying, but the jumping, swinging and climbing around really gets to you. Every time I play the game though, my hands and feet start getting cold sweat though….

One thing needs to be said though… OH GOD ELIKA IS HAWT.

Comic Fiesta 2008: Schedule and Artist Booths Layout

The schedule and artist booth layout for CF2008 is finally upped on the main site.

The schedule’s pretty much standard but I’m really interested in that stage performance on the second day. Looks like someone will be performing those songs up on stage. No info on who’s doing it though.

The artist booth layout is also out for easy planning of which groups to “attack” first, and it does seem bigger than last year’s CF with so many groups packed in. Hope it’s not gonna be Comiket-level squeezing LOL.
