I think Melodies and Memories come in a Package. If we watch it and makes a comparison between both, the effects of sensitization will influence our judgement. Frankly speaking, I view ef as a whole and I am able to enjoy the wholesome goodness in it.

After all the story is one, and I actually enjoy YuukoxHimura alot but putting KuzexMizuki aside. But of course, ChihiroxRenji is real pawnage for me as well. Then again, I think both season got it's strength so comparison really gets me no where. Again, banzai to ef! This anime kick ass, definitely one of my favourite anime up to date!

I think if you played ef - the latter tale, you would see Kuze and Mizuki had a lot more potential than exhibited in the anime. Overall, my favorite episode from melodies was probably episode 1 for two main reasons. It was supervised by the director himself and also that was when Kuze and Mizuki were still at that innocent sort-of stage. They progressed too quickly for the KuzexMizuki arc IMO which is a shame because they are my second favorite couple next to Yuu and Yuuko.

So, don't hate on Kuze. His story is a lot more fascinating and heart-wrenching than seen in the anime which only showed a gradual (too slow for many people's taste to look into) progression. SHAFT did excellent in their artistic devices for the series, but the plot faltered just a bit to display any interest for viewers. ;(

KuzexMizuki. They were the most playful and innocent couple (ironic according to their age difference though) in the ef series. They were my favorite next to YuuxYuuko and KeixKyosuke.

Well to tell you the true, from the game melodies was supposed to be superior, and i don't want to look resentful, shaft did a good job but the bad pacing was unbalance, and on to of that the cut a lot of the details from the game but like they said beggars can be choosers and the last episode did manage to move me and convey finally that yuuko and yuu were soulmates but we can see it clearly because they left out some small but critical details mizuki and kuze plays a little diferent to, it didn't felt as superficial but again i blame this an the pacing well what done is done, i can just reflect about it ..............................i am a little disappointed sniff, sniff , sniff poor sniff, sniff yuuko and yuu deserved better sniff.

I'm agree Kuro. Not as good as Memories. But atleast we have a conclusion.
But god it was really irritating to see that we didn't get any actual conclusive moment to Mizuki and Kuze's story.

Otherwise it was alright. But the story just didn't seem as fleshed out. bad pacing as Clear said.

Perhaps Kuze was too emo. But they were good at showing his insanity (and I love insanity).

This season was more dark than Memories. Which then caused a real atmospheric shift.

bah, all of you people are WEAK, I tell you, WEAK!

I think if anything, this adds to the character development of Yuko. Don't get me wrong or anything, it's a terrible thing. If this stopped you from watching it, I would assume you couldn't get pass Elfen Lied 1 to get to the meat of the story.

I do admit that their pacing is crappy this time around though. Kuze's character is just too emo.

I dropped the series at ep 4 when the ep hinted at Yuuko's bro sexually abusing her. I didn't have the mettle to confirm such a development and dropped the series. Reading reviews all round, I'm glad I did. I enjoy a good tragedy but this is beyond my threshold since I like Yuuko quite a bit.

Looks like I'd only be getting Memories DVDs.
