[...] Kurogane: [eo, 10] turned out to be more of an Ami episode than anything. I love how the director is intentionally making her real feelings being vague. It kinda evokes a certain amount of pathos in me towards her. Is she actually teasing Ryuuji just for the sake of teasing him? Or has she really fallen for him? The conversation with Ryuuji about being “equals” also was a masterful touch of almost touching her real feelings but not quite there yet. The use of metaphors in this series is seriously winning me over. [...]

Ditto Ami is now the character I find most intriguing. Despite how well thought out they are I think all the subtleties and focus in the recent episodes do not suit Minorin's character too much. I'd probably prefer it for her to remain the super-awesome side character she was in the early eps.

Ok now I really want to see a RyuujiXAmi ending, I'll also settle for a RyuuhiXTaiga ending but I'd like to see the first more. I'm not really feeling it for Minori's character, I'm often at odds with the male leads love interest as I like it so much more when a character takes interest in somebody as the series progresses, I think this is called character developement.

Also I now have a firm belief that Ryuuji might not even be "in love" with Minori, rather I think he has feelings of admiration and envy. She's Ryuuji's opposite, most are put off by Ryuuji's delinquent looks and tend to avoid him. Minori on the other hand has everything Ryuuji wanted, with her energetic and positive attitude people are attracted to her rather than reppeled like Ryuuji.

I really liked the sun and the moon metaphor in this episode. I think where this series really wins for me is when Ami says something like "You and Minorin are incompatible". I think it's true of quite a number of anime's I've seen where I've had to suspend my disbelief more than I should have to imagine the loser male lead having tons of amazing girls fall in love with him. Although the characters in toradora are quirky at times, how they react to their quirkiness and the realizations of their own shortcomings really makes the whole thing seem more realistic. I also empathize with characters that I actually feel bad for too. Poor Ami, I just don't see how there could be a good ending for her.

I loved the Urusei Yatsura reference. All hail Mendo.

This episode was amazing and the relationships, as far as friendship, crush or rival status, are starting to get blurry. Need to get my hands on the novels to get more insight on this turn of events. Heard that after vol. 6 things start to move in a more straightforward direction.

With this ep. Toradora has become my favorite of the season, bar none.

Yes, they spent a bunch of budget on animating Ami's breasts.. and I still say she was teasing him for the sake of doing so, since she herself isn't QUITE clear on how she feels about the situation with Ryuuji, or at least wasn't until after she saw him having fun with Minorin and fireworks.
