Tales of the Abyss 08

Tales of the Abyss

Yes. So even if Luke is a FUCKING ASSHAT RETARD. I couldn’t help but actually feel a bit sorry for him when this happened. Hell, his whole world and reason of existence practically crumbled in very, VERY bad day.

Anyways, I hope he changes a new leaf after this episode. Cuz I don’t think I can stop myself to FALCON PUNCH him if he ever starts his whiny tantrums again. Either that or more Tear screentime.

Like seriously more screentime.

Like making her the main lead.

I didn´t feel sorry for him. Not when I watched this, not when I played the game. He got what he deserved for being such a damn asshat retard acting all high and mighty.

From the preview well we are going to get a great scene. The funny part is that we have a lot of stuff left to do gamewise. I´m just wishing for one of the skitz, it would look wonderful if it were animated.

Although I hate a lot in the beginnin because of his attitude. However, I know one thing is that he is still a good person on the inside. Therefore, I can still sympathize with him. There is so much someone can deserve for their actions and so far, he had deserved enough from the Alzeruiuth incident. Now learning that all his hopes and admiration for Van was useless because he is a replica and Van treated him such is too much now. Knowing your existance is an existance not meant to be is very damaging to a person.

i demand the melon skit be made in the near future.

Don’t worry, Luke will stop acting like an idiot from now on.

I didn’t feel sorry for him, I felt sorry for all those people that had to die because of his arrogance. Luckily it serves as a good starting point for what comes next with his character and I don’t think that could have really happened had he not gone through something like he did here.

Don’t worry, this is the point where he gets better. Much better.

If you like The Atoner personality.

I’ll agree Luke was a dick in the first half but he grew on me in the second half of the game, but others are at fault

like I dunno, FUCKING FON MASTER ION

He’s the only one who could open the fon seal and he knew from that point Van couldn’t be trusted anymore

also, Asch annoys the MOTHERFUCK shit out of me in the game >.>

Luke’s behavior is entirely due to his upbringing. Actually, having duke for father, king for uncle and princess for fiancee usually make person’s character way, way worse. Throw in the loss of memories, secluded lifestyle and the fact that everyone except for Van seemed to pity him, but never took seriously, and you will be surprised of how nicely he behaves. Despite his age, he’s pretty much a child who doesn’t know his way around the world and gets easily played by the likes of Van. So, given his background, he’s role-played pretty well…

That and Van’s constant influence on him. Technically, Luke is like a 7 year old in a 17 year old’s body in a sense.

Bingo, which is why one should, in theory, be able to excuse his earlier behaviour. Of course, fandom being what it is…

The way he acts later, going from The Atoner to The Death Seeker to The Messiah, is especially impressive, given his actual age, as well.

Exactly. That’s the reason why I can forgive him to an extent for what he has done. Not only that, his development from a brat to a mature and responsible person who nows what he wants and what to do makes him outstanding for a 7 year old. Actually, it makes him outstanding as a person. Pretty much a 7 year old who becomes mature and understanding of the world around him like a 20 year old.

Silver: I know. I´ve heard it enough times already myself. Not as brutal as Luke had to hear it but still. It hurts.

When I played the game I was torn, ordinary Luke is a spoiled brat but he has good intentions and can act really nice to the ones around him. Natalia and Guy being examples, but as soon as Van enters the stage Luke is so freaking dumb and you just want to kill him. That´s why I don´t feel sorry for him with what happened. He had it comming if I should say so.

But no, his existance did have a meaning. To be Vans puppet to make his dreams and a lot of stuff that is comming available.

Clear: with some exceptions in his behaviour.

Kaisos: I don´t know but shouldn´t we try to keep things spoiler free? With those words you´ve just spoiled the whole show/game and for those that haven´t played the game so far it´s pretty boring to know what´s going to happen :(

If people don’t read TV Tropes, they’ll probably have little idea what I’m actually referring to.

Besides, Luke’s development is inevitable. But I’ll tone it down from here on.

You have to think about this way, it’s all Van’s fault, he knew this from the beginning, he did his ”warrior” mind trick powers on him for a long time, so to Luke, Van is a person he holds higher than anyone else, and believes him outright without doubting, I won’t deny he also has that typical personality of a person who’s royalty and had it easy since birth, even so he’s a nice person at the core. Just that VAN is the switch in his personality.

Although I think that Luke is “trash” for not wanting to help the injured people and acting high and mighty. But, Van is to blame for everything that happened. Van deceived him and messed with his mind so much that he basically controlled Luke.
