Gundam 00 S2 so far…

Gundam 00 S2

Is it me or is everyone in the show being emo just because it’s cool to be emo? The sudden humility and anti-war sentiments of practically everyone in the cast in S2 is turning out to be quite a painful watch.

God.. I miss Geass Sundays.

Silly japanese, they need to rewatch ALL classics in the war movie and TV series genre to grasp why americans and europeans do it better. ;)

PS: on a more personal opinion, watchers are not going to buy it if it is robot pilots and not infantrymen.

Geass Sundays were awesome because of the fans … who really aren’t around with Gundam 00.

In 2007 it was Gurren Lagann Saturdays(even though it was never called as such) But people who were lurking in the 2ch RAW threads would grab screencaps as they came and people would go crazy over them on 4chan discussing and shooping away(Remember those 4koma gaijin shoops?).

In 2008 a similar thing happened for Code Geass but this time we had access to live streams which made things even more exciting as people could react to things as they aired.

And so we all await what new show we’re going to have in 2009 that brings about just as much chaos and crazyness from the fans.

Yeah cause showing adverse emotion outside of an overwrought visual novel adaptation is a serious no-no. Sheesh….

only saji is a emo fag. Louise is more garr than him, hope she end up with andrei than this shinji clone. But then his personalty could change if he piloted the 00 riser..

I wonder why they try each and every time to get one person to scream and cry and doubt his actions as much as possible?

In Gundam Seed it was ok with Kira. Gundam Seed Destiny with Shinn was a bit over the top, but for the love of all that is holy, Saji MUST DIE so I don´t have to spend time watching him wine troughout each and every damn episode.

You are aware that humility is commonly thought of as a virtue and thus a character strength right? I mean humility is something that is supposed to be desirable in a person so if that makes you feel uneasy then perhaps you’re looking for something more along the lines of pride. In that case Kurogane No Linebarrel with its main character should be right up your alley.

Or perhaps you were maybe thinking of the word humanity or humbling? Or perhaps you don’t actually know what you mean at all. Hmmmm?

One little thing: I´ve got nothing against the emotional distress Saji goes trough. As a “normal” human being in the same situation as him we would all react different.

But the thing that I don´t like is the focus. Saji has gone trough a lot, he blames Celestial Being for everything, him not getting accepted by Louise after the accident, him losing Louise, that his sister died etc etc.

We want to put blame on someone to feel better. If then that reality turns out to be wrong, it is a great shock for the individual.

Or the thing Saji does when he´s captured and talks with Sergei: Oh I know where they are, I´ll tell you if you let me go…

To follow up with his actions he is tormented by what Arrows did? They are enemies and they want to destroy each other, what did he think they would do? Sweep down and ask them gently to stop?

It´s war for God´s sake!! Enemies are in 9/10 cases to be destroyed. We have the civil rights and all so civilians shouldn´t have anything to do with the war itself. But here Arrows make a point of not letting anyone go.

And as Saji already has experienced this I wonder how much of an idiot can he become?

So in conclusion: Emotional feelings is a good thing. But for it to take up this much time in a show like Gundam 00? No thank you. I don´t want to follow Saji Crossroads tormented soul as he stumbles across the land with nothing else on his mind than that he indeed was the reason for a mass slaughter.

Reflecting is good, but why does it have to be on screen time? Kira did all those reflections of screen while he was with Lacus. Then he fought it his way.

It took longer time for Athrun and yes, I did not enjoy Gundam Seed Destiny because of all the damn focus on Shins sis-con troubles and his unstable mind.

If the main lead in Kurogane no Line Barrel hasn´t changed then I don´t have any reason to watch that either. From what I saw in the first ep that is really irritating. I won´t go into detail though since I can´t explain why.

By the way when we are on the topic of main leads that are so freaking stupid and idiotic you just want them dead. What do you think of Luke von Fabre from Tales of the Abyss? His behaviour and him being over everyone else, spoiled, wanting to get out, when he got out all he wanted was to get back home. As long as his teacher Van tells him something he´ll blindly follow it without a second thought.

Anime in this way is pretty cool, they can actually create so strong emotions in their viewers they get sad, angry or wonder what is happening with a show that should have so much action and stuff but instead we´re treated to the personal dilemmas of one of the “victims” that hasn´t got the right image of it all?

Or am I going out in the wrong direction? Did that explain for you what I meant or do I have to try at another angle?

Dang! I thought Code Geass R2 was semi-emo but now . . . I don’t know anymore. Does anyone else here think the new Lockon is HAWT – okay so they look alike but DANG they are SO different! The new Tieria is awesome, looks like he’s finally got a heart (pause for the awww’s) and that was SO messed up keeping Allelujah locked up for four years. (Just curious, how did he go to the bathroom? Did they feed him? How did his hair stay the same length for four years? Too many questions? Too bad) Setsuna’s bi-nad! Too bad that probably won’t last.

Off-topic, did anyone catch the english version? OMG(2) they used the voice actor for Inu Yasha to play Allelujah THAT WAS SOOOOO AWESOME, my only beef – they used the same actress for Relena to play Mariana-sama . . . dang it! If they give her a Relena-complex I am soooooooo gonna kill them.
