CLANNAD After Story 09
The 3rd years all graduate except for Nagisa who collapses. Guess it’s good bye to Kotomi, Kyou, Ryou and the School Life arc.
I don’t know if I’ll keep on talking about CLANNAD now that the AFTER story is going to be begin. I’m not very good at sad things. We’ll see as the show goes on I guess.
Thanks Kyo Ani for the Botan appearance. I have a feeling we won’t be seeing much more of him now too…
Hard-boiled Wonderland and The End of The World
There is really something about reading a book on a quiet, rainy night while Bob Dylan plays in the background.
In short, I just finished my first Haruki Murakami book and I guess this begins another burden on my wallet as I want to read more of Haruki Murakami. I have thank/blame saturnine for his impromptu book recommendation the other day we met, although I’ve already been quite interested to read Haruki for a while.
On the book itself, I must say it was a really engaging read, but it was still simple enough that I could put the book away for a long time and come back to it without feeling lost. I think it’s the lack of proper names that made that possible. Referring everyone directly to their role in the story is actually makes the story stick to my memory easier. It’s also how I remember people in real life too. I almost never remember anyone’s proper names, but instead store them as nicknames/Internet handles/short descriptions.
One thing that really jumps out to me is how the End of the World portions eerily mirror the premise of Haibane Renmei closely that I couldn’t help draw parallels to it, even though I’m aware that the book was written 17 years before it was even conceived. Perhaps Yoshitoshi ABe was a big fan of Haruki too.
Hmm.. I wonder which title should I get next to read? Thinking of getting Norwegian Wood next since it’s in chronological order after Hard-boiled.
Toradora! 09
Toradora is totally unpredictable yet familiar at the same time. It’s like suddenly having your PC motherboard turned in a BTX format when you’re used to ATX and all the slots/ports are situated differently yet they’re the same damn thing. Of course it works like a PC would on the whole but the way it’s doing it is totally different. In short, Toradora is forging a totally new path through an oft-used setup and doing incredibly refreshing things with it.

Fuck yeah, shit starts hitting the fan this episode! About damn time we get some Yomi action already.
AFA 2008: The loot.
Yeah. That’s all. I only bought back 4 things from Singapore (aside from all the memories and photos of course).
I really feel suicidal for forgetting to bring my own Diamond Crevasse single to Singapore. Maybe another time… another time…

Oh wow wtf? Yuuto’s suddenly turned in to Nanaya.
Man, I left for just three days and suddenly there’s a scanlation release overflow.
I don’t even dare to visit 東京 図書館 yet. I still have upwards of 1.2k photos to organize and check. Trying to catch up with the anime backlog will probably make me get even more delayed.
