Ahhhh~!!! They skipped through a lot of story here! A lot of the Taiga x Ryuuji dynamic was missing as well as killing the impact of a seriously emotional scene in the story for me. Reading the lamp post scene in the manga actually made me shed a few tears for the tragedy of Taiga and Ryuuji getting misunderstood by Minorin and Kitamura. Can’t be helped, I guess, thanks to the limited episode run of the series. They still have a lot of ground to cover for the series.
Still, this episode was pretty well done, especially the confession by Taiga to Kitamura. That just had quite enough emotional impact to purvey to the viewers while not being overtly final in its presentation. Another good mention also goes to the hilariousness of Minorin and Kitamura at the rooftop scene as well. That sure cracked me up despite knowing how painful it was for both Taiga and Ryuuji to hear. I wished they expanded more on the family restaurant scene afterwards however :(.
Also, good job on portraying Taiga’s dojikko traits as well, it’s one of the more unique and endearing facets of her character too me, as well as making her a much more human existence than the other famous Kugyuu tsundere roles. Seriously looking at someone as clumsy yet hard-working as she is, I can’t help but want to support her as well.
P.S.: Oops forgot to comment on the OP, which is finally out this week. It’s quite catchy and a the chorus of Kugyuu, Hocchan and Eri Kitamura coupled with the pacing transition from slow to fast make it a very quirky listen.
Also, Inko-chan is really an enigma ^^;;
