This kind of happened with ADV’s Macross dub. IIRC they got Lin Minmay’s original seiyuu to reprise her role in the English dub. However, the difference there was that her seiyuu had been living in America for a good number of years and was completely fluent in English, thusly I assume her performance wasn’t awkward.

That said, the fact that they pronounce things correctly at all in this PV astounds me. The acting totally sucks, but still.

Hmmm, CGonzo + Taniguchi sounds like a match made in heaven to me.
Mathematically, negative + negative = positive, but I don’t think that’ll work here.

I see the name Goro Taniguchi…. hmmmm….

That aside, I’m pretty sure Mamiko’s english is pretty good and probably a handful of other VA’s too
