The odd art direction is actually kind of interesting. Haesslich: Yeah I felt they chose the perfect seiyu for Ryuuji's mom. Well Kuro. While Taiga's eyes are scary. They did a good job of showing off why people think Ryuuji's eyes are scary. I thought it was fun first episode.
