It's so... cliched. Virtually every dialogue that comes out of a character's mouth is a fucking cliche. I could barely get myself to watch the scene in episode 3 or 4 where Henrietta talks to Tiffania about the shit she's gone through and so on. I just wanted to strangle someone and chew bubble gum, and I was all out of people to strangle. Wait, that came out wrong.

I actually liked part of season 2 and didn't mind how it ended. In fact, I cried when I first saw the finale. But a lot of shit still irritated me.

For instance, just how fucking pathetic are the people of that world? I mean, in the final episode of Season 1, all the generic grunts get owned by dragons, and Henrietta is supposed to be this awesome mage but she can't do crap. No, it has to be Louise who single-handedly wipes every fucking single person out. Same for Season 2. They capture the dude and take the Super Special Awesome Egyptian Ring... and what happens? Cromwell gets offed in a fucking jail cell in Henrietta's own kingdom and the ring gets stolen. The sheer incompetence of anyone who isn't a main character gets to me.

I think the dilemma with ZnT is its premise/setting is has so much potential (well, imo anyway), and if somebody competent ever takes charge of the script writing, I'm sure we'll get good stuff.

Or maybe I'm just trying to justify my having clawed and staggered through season 2, and being now clawing and staggering through season 3, and STILL find myself considering watching season 4 (if and when it appears) for the heck of it.

You know, I didn't think too highly of season 2 (actually, not at all highly), but at least the ending was pretty well done, add to that Mitsumune Shinkichi's great OST and I thought the season was not a total waste of time... But this time around I think it's even worse... IMO it's ok for a 24 episode series to spend maybe 1 or 2 episodes on lighthearted humor/fanservice, but definitely not like 6 episodes in a 12 episode series... There's just no room for plot left. Anyways, I still have the last couple of episodes waiting to be watched... Let's see how it turns out.

Like you I still wonder how I managed to watch all 3 seasons. If you think about it, they could have finished ZnT if they deleted all the fanservice time in the episodes. But that has been a dream since an eternity ago.

I had only watched abit of Zero III for the heck of it. I hadn't even fully watched Zero II.

I agree Magnius. It worries me that J.C. Staff has to play their Rie Kugumiya card (again) for Taiga (and you and I aren't the only people who think that).
For some reason I can stand Taiga (most likely cause she gives Ryūji abit of slack) but it's very hard for me to stand Louise.

Magnius, dude, you didn't make it very far in the show if you didn't even see Hina. The anime didn't really hit it's stride till around ep 10ish. Somewhere around there the show stopped being silly/ridiculous and was actually funny. (but then I had already read the manga so I knew most of the jokes up till then)

I'm even more sure that Zero will have a fourth season, then I am of Shana having a third. I really hope Shana has a third.

I'm not a big fan of the Zero series though. The whole LouisexSaito relationship just doesn't work. And the few times it actually does like the end of second season, that whole wedding and their flowers and passionate love is entirely forgotten it seems when this third season started aka when they have females surrounding them again.

Obviously for them to finally be happy they must become like elves and hide in a forest to never see another female again, and ONLY THEN, can they find happiness in their relationship.

Indeed, that's the same problem I have with tsundere characters like Louise. I mean, I'd have throttled her half to death if I was Saito. I really don't get how much of an ungrateful bitch Louise is when it comes to Saito.

Saito's willing to tell Louise he loves her, something few male anime characters have the guts to do. He's constantly risking his life for her - especially in the second season, dues ex machina aside - and even gave up returning to the real world for her. Yet, despite all that, she just brings up her wand and blasts him with magic whenever he gives another female character a fucking glance.

I mean, sure, Saito shouldn't be drooling after another woman, but damn, Louise takes it too far too often. This has me worried about ToraDora, which I'm excited about, seeing as the same damn seiyuu for Taiga as Louise, and I really don't want to see Taiga doing the same shit that Louise does. Then again, the story's a bit different, so I'll keep my faith.

I stopped watching after a while (as I did with most anime this season) to focus on Code Geass, so I don't know what happens in the later episodes. Then again, nor do I really care, cause I don't watch ZnT for the plot. I... Fuck, I don't know why I watch ZnT.

Thinking back to the Hayate subject, I finally remembered why I gave up on Hayate. Cause I hated the Nagi-type tsundere. Tell me, does the story ever get further than that? Cause I gave up before Hayate met Hina, and I'm not going to risk exposing myself to bitchy-jealous-tsundere types without something to risk my sanity for.
