just looking at the tv series, you can’t really tell if taylor is lucky or a genius. But after looking at the oav series i leaning toward the genius column, with a big dose of luck.

Is Tylor really just lucky, or is he a genius?! I think the anime does a really good job of leaving it open to interpretation.

I remember thinking at the time that Tylor’s like an uber-Taoist. He absolutely refuses to force anyone to do anything, or to place any burdens onto them. Instead he causes them to change themselves of their own free will.

personally, I liked the OVA. The plot was a bit hokey but it gave a good sense of closure. (I do agree that the Nadesico OVA was gut-wrenchingly awful)

Don’t watch the OAVs! The first two are ok, but the rest are like watching the Nadesico movie right after enjoying the series.

Ah, Tylor. Do try to pick up the OVAs that come directly after the series,as they give some character development for the rest of the Sayokaze’s crew. It’s a LOT more serious in tone though, so be prepared.
