Gurren Lagaan Parallel Works: Libera me from Hell

No. I am not trolling you. This IS the video.

Seriously. For the most EPIC BGM of 2007, all you can whip up is a slideshow of desert backgrounds and the shadow of someone running? I’m sure it’s, uh, something symbolic, but this shit is too “deep” for me man.

I want to cry now. Why are my Tuesdays all so shitty? T.T

It looks like Australia. I guess Gainax was too busy not putting new content in movie to animate this one.

I try to remember that this is just one guy doing it, and he isn’t an animator. I try to tell myself that it isn’t necessarily BAD, it just had a huge hype to live up to because of the song and the scenes associated with it. I try to tell myself that, but really I just want to kick a kitten.

I dunno it’s not as bad as the Golgo 13 Professional op

I have to say the images are meaningful and deep and all that, but it really was different from expected. Like you said, perhaps we are hoping too much for this awesome BGM?

Anyway, I still find this the best:

That’s just… horribly, horribly dissapointing. Easily one of, if not the, best songs on the soundtrack, and we get… THIS. Kittan would turn over in his epic grave.

Kurogane isn’t trolling us. Gainax is.

Want to bet they were making this video, and someone in the production crew said “Hey, maybe no one will like just crapping out and putting video of scenery and some guy running. Maybe we could make a super awesome animated battle scene or something instead”.

And then the director slaps him in the face, adn they all laugh at him. Meanwhile, they release the video to mass disappointment.

I just bet something like this happened.

I believe the videos are each made by one individual. What they do is up to them, but that also means that they make it themselves. The person that made this video was obviously not an animator, so he chose to do this instead. Still, it’s Libera Me. I’d have forced it upon the lead animator or something.
