Nunnally is still alive!

Apparently, a just released TV guide for Geass R2 spills the beans on the survival of Nunnally.

死んだと思われていたナナリーが、敵としてルルーシュの前に現れた。 ルルーシュは、 ナナリーを操るシュナイゼルと富士の上空で激突する。

Nunnally, who was thought to be dead, appears before Lelouch as an enemy. Lelouch clashes against Schneizel, who is manipulating Nunnally, over the skies of Mt. Fuji.

Man, Sunrise, I KNEW you would do that. Nothing IS sacred anymore.

All I’m worried about now is the presentation of it.

That would be an interesting situation for Lelouch… a tactical nuke-like bomb straped to Nunnally’s flying chair above Mt. Fuji and he has to fight her… what would be going through his head? What would Jack Bauer do? Hell… What would any hero do in this situation?

*example of what would be going on in Lelouch’s mind*

“I can’t fight Nunnally but can’t lose to Schneizel. Can’t put Geass on Nunnally too (Duh!)… Sorry, Nunnally… *pulls trigger* NUNNALLY!!!”

Nunnally’s Death ala. Euphemia… that would be my prediction…

I give up, seriously. I want to ask how she survived this and if she did, does that mean everyone who died in the nuke will magically appear? I was hoping Sunrise would not pull another Patrick after Gundam 00 but screw it. I now want to see Shirley pop up due to the power of Geass and be Lelouch’s mistress. This solidifies the happy ending.

  17. Jarmel Said,

    September 3, 2008 @ 11:14 pm

I’m thinking maybe the Knight of One’s Geass might be to appear as the one you love most, thus making it look like Nunnally he’s fighting when it is really the Knight. This would explain the focus on the Knight of One in the preview.

I wasn’t a fan of this idea and that hasn’t changed…but it’s not like there weren’t hints (the monitor screen during the nuke’s explosion, the whole deal about the two shuttles) and theories out there, even right after the episode aired. It was still a possibility.

So I can’t quite fake being too surprised.

I do agree in that it will be the presentation, or execution, of it all which will determine what I think of the result.

    WTF Speculations…..

    23) Schneizel’s Mask
Lelouch sacrifice his body cause him to be severely injured himself saving Nunnally before they crash to Mt. Fuji. Everyone was shock as a big explosion happened in Mt. Fuji with Schneizel thought he is already victorious. Karen on tears

C.C gives up her code to save Lelouch (At least she died smiling… Lelouch accepted C.C. offer since he still have unfinished business to settle with his brother).
Schneizel was suprised to see Lelouch and alive again. Then there would be space battle since Schneizel revealed his greatest weapon. Destroying a certain area on Earth. Effect is 10 times more powerful than FLEIA.

Suzaku and Karen and both the Gurren and Lancelot Albion detonate to blowup Schneizel’s greatest weapon before it fires another one on Earth.
Lelouch get Schneizel and have him and his brother be sealed. Lelouch entrusts Nunnally the future. She’s the 100th rather the new empress of brittania
It seems Karen is alived due to some *escape pod*?, Suzaku probably not (Armageddon plot only one escape pod and they can’t detonate the Gurren and Lancelot without someone staying there)
At Ashford, everyone remembers Suzaku as a hero

Years have passed, Zero reemerges (Lelouch didn’t get old lol) since another conflict have started.

    The End

    Is this a good end?

HA, I knew it. Everyone was saying, “Nooo, that comment of them finding Nunnally was totally when they found her in Japan between R1 and 2.” This should PROVE once and for all that NO death in Sunrise anime should EVER be taken seriously.

  24. Camario Said,

    September 4, 2008 @ 3:15 am

Bluestreak2: Actually, you’re still pretty wrong about that, even now that is she is still alive that wasn’t what the comment was referencing, and most deaths have remained quite permanent, but it’s not like it matters much.

Sunrise…what a bunch of sell-out losers. Next you know they might make a Cowboy Bebop 2 with you-know-who resurrected. Oh well, I guess it’s not their fault fans are dumb enough to buy series in which nobody important ever dies.

  35. Kaisos Said,

    “Nobody important ever dies…?”

Euphie, Shirley, Rollo, Charles, Marianne, that glasses dude, Cornelia’s knight…

There actually have been more deaths than surprise resurrections…

The only two characters in Geass who have been surprise resurrected, to my memory, are Nunnally and Jeremiah, and we never actually saw either of them die.

    >>“The only two characters in Geass who have been surprise resurrected, to my memory, are Nunnally and Jeremiah, and we never actually saw either of them die.”

And Marianne before her “Death by Sparklies”… And arguably Mao (twice?)…

And kudos to Kurogane for using that title. If those Animenano/RSS weaboos who didn’t see this coming a million miles off or who obviously take this series more seriously than Sunrise themselves (who–hello!–wrote the synopsis in the first place) have a problem with it, screw ’em!

    Two thoughts.

Yes, Nunnally will be evilly unveiled as the evil mastermind behind Everything Evil. As I already predicted last season.

Five bucks says Nunnally is revealed to the audience and Lelouche within a minute or two of the end of the episode, as the obligatory end-of-episode twist. I swear they’ve got M Night Shyamalan over there writing this stuff.

  37. Kaisos Said,

    Marianne actually died, though.

And I forgot about Mao, thanks.

  38. Camario Said,

    September 5, 2008 @ 12:37 pm

quigonkenny: “And Marianne before her “Death by Sparklies”… And arguably Mao (twice?)…”

Considering that there was obviously something “not right” with the original story of Marianne’s (physical) death and that C.C. had been talking to her mentally since season one (and this continued into R2)…honestly, if you didn’t expect something there, I don’t know what to say. I didn’t expect what actually happened, but I don’t count that as a “resurrection” either, for those reasons.

Even in Jeremiah’s case, it was made very clear that he ejected and was picked up by the Code R scientists in Stages 10-11. How is that “dying”? Then he became a cyborg and ended up in the middle of the sea with C.C., but that was hardly a confirmed “death” even in appearance . More like missing in action and unexplained escape.

Mao is the only case I would really complain about even right now. I don’t see why you say “twice”. He appeared to die in Stage 15 and was killed once and for all in Stage 16.

  39. Kaiser7780 Said,

btw: is Lelouch REALLY gonna die in the last episode?

IF he did, people are REALLY right to compare this to Death Note. lol

  40. Evetenshi Said,

    September 7, 2008 @ 10:13 pm

Kind of off topic but the comment about Lelouch not being able to geass Nunally made me wonder something. Since Nunally’s blindness and inability to walk is because of Charles geassing her, doesn’t that mean if Jeremiah used his geass canceler on her, all her memories would come back? (Plus her eyesight and legs)

But I really think Sunrise skimped on the explanation of Charles geassing Nunally for her ‘safety’ because I have no idea how that makes sense…
