Oh god the irony… NUNALLLYYYY!!!!

Code Geass R2

(BTW, this is a spoiler post, so don’t complain if you clicked on it.)

R.I.P. Nunally. It was so ironic that she got killed by Suzaku, who shot Freya under the influence of Lelouch’s Geass. Just soooo ironic. This is really gonna weight a lot on both of their consciences.

So my little nagging suspicion that everyone with white wings in the ED now are dead or going to die is pretty much correct. Only C.C remains alive… oh well.

Ah, the emofest next week… is gonna be fun to watch.

I’ll put a proper post up later… hopefully.

It is not confirmed that she is dead yet.

I find it hard to believe that such an important character will die without a proper dramatic sendoff. As is typical for a Sunrise series = no body means no death.

Her supposed death was just a plot device to make Lelouch go completely insane. I cannot imagine what he would feel right now.

I didn’t see a corpse in a wheel chair, no doubt Sayako got Nunnally out. I just want to see what explanation they can come up with…hopefully it will be better than “Sayako out ran the blast.” Given how many characters Sunrise has resurrected in the past and recently with Lasse from Gundam 00 hardly any one dies for reals these days, unless it was t guy named Ali who knifes them or you see a body. In any case its way too early to write her obituary.

I’m really not sure about this. Part of me thinks that Nunnally may have survived, not because they wouldn’t kill her off, but because I don’t think they’d kill Sayoko off about now.

On the other hand, I do think Nunnally is exactly the kind of character they’d kill in this series – after Euphie and Shirley, it’s pretty clear that Code Geass believes in killing off the nicest (or at least those without blood on their hands) in the most cruel fashion possible. I wouldn’t be too shocked if this really is the end for her…

  4. Kurogane Shiroikaze Said,

Well, if she manages to survive _that_, I wouldn’t be surprised.

The problem would be how to explain it. Maybe Freya is just a time-space dislocation bomb and all the matter caught in it’s blast radius is moved to another time-space continuum, possibly the same dimension that the Sword of Akasha is in. Sunrise had better come up with a satisfying explanation or Code Geass just loses all it’s appeal for me.

However, given the circumstances and situation leading to the firing of Freya, I am tempted to believe that her death is pretty much final, with some support given in the form of the picture above. Flimsy yes, but better than nothing I guess.

And yes, DigiKerot, isn’t it sad that Sunrise just likes to do such a thing. Poor Shirley. At least Nunnally didn’t die in the hands of that fucker Rollo. That would really get me all riled up. Nunnally leaving in this way is more… “epic”, for the lack of a better word.

nah… i don’t think nunally’s dead. it may be ironic if she did, but i don’t think she died. not with the super meido with her! and anyway, i’m actually more torn up that (maybe) jeremiah died saving his “princess”.

maybe rolo saved nunally with his time-stopping Geass

  7. DiGiKerot Said,

    August 10, 2008 @ 8:52 pm

Shiro -> “maybe rolo saved nunally with his time-stopping Geass”

Rollo can’t stop time, he can stop peoples movements. He can’t do shit about a Nuke.

Also, Rollo was nowhere near Nunnally at the time anyway – he’d ditched them and flew off in a Knightmare.

The thing is, she doesn’t need to be alive to participate in the story

The Emperor can talk to dead people. Who is to say Lelouch won’t develop that kind of ability?

  9. DisTurBer Said,

Lelouch believes she’s dead. That’s the only thing we can say for sure.

How’d I know that Suzaku would become the Murder Princess’ Bloody Knight? And this almost guarantees that Suzaku will be thought of, by Lulu, as murdering Nunnally, Milly, Kallen, and anyone in Tokyo? And Suzaku will blame Lulu because of his Geass even though Suzaku probably could have found another way to survive

  13. Haesslich Said,

    August 11, 2008 @ 1:11 am

At least now we know why the Black Knights will sell out Lulu, only to get betrayed later – Schneizel will tell them of the Geass and that Suzaku and Lulu were talking… and let them conclude that Lulu ordered Suzaku to bomb Tokyo and his own sister, and Kallen.

  14. Hei Said,

    August 11, 2008 @ 1:22 am

There wouldn’t be a corpse left it’s a effing nuke.
Super maid was to confused to do anything at the moment.
My guess is that do to Lelouch throwing a emo fest next week he’ll get abandoned by the Black Knights.
Suzaku on the other hand will leave Britania on his own will and so will Anya/Zino.
Then an alliance will form between Lelouch & Suzaku and co.
But I also think that Cornelia while maybe not joining them will still help them out.
And when I say Lelouch I include Rolo and C.C.
Now I’m confused what the Black Knights will become because I’m personally thinking they’ll revert back to being a resistance group without Zero.
Also what will Kallen and Diethard do now.
But at the end this is all just my speculation so take it for a grain of rice.

Pretty nice irony in this ep yes. And since Lelouch isn’t thinking right he acted to rashly. Hell Suzaku even told him that he was still under geass.

What a big damn blunder you did again Lelouch. Trainwreck show confirmed.

As for Nunally, we dont know her abilities yet, but it fits in with Sunrise to start killing of people randomly…

Oh well. I’ll keep on watching. Weird that Rolo didn’t kill her though. And I do wonder what the hell Lelouch is thinking when he sends in Rolo, who killed Sheryl because of Nunally to save said person. Hell he must have been on something when he couldn’t figure that one out.

I’m not enjoying watching CGR2 as much anymore though… why the hell are they doing it like this?

The fun thing here? Suzaku was facing Jeremiah first, but the latter wasn’t ordered to cancel Suzaku’s Geass… which helped get Nunnally’s building bombed by a nuke.

    Oops.

Hei: Episode 17 broke any chance of Suzaku and Lulu willingly cooperating, given that Lulu things Suzaku sold him out. Anya and Gino might be able to go over… maybe… but Suzaku would be shot dead by Zero, if not by anyone else who’d lost a relative in Tokyo.

  23. meganeshounen Said,

I almost want to believe that supahmeido Sayoko can actually outrun a nuclear(?) explosion, or she and Nunally were fortunately out of the blast radius (but what about the fallout?)…

If that doesn’t work, then I just wish that FLEIYA was really just a time-space dislocation weapon, that sent this universe’s Nunally to the “Nightmare of Nunally” universe and meet their version of Nunally and Nunally-on-steroids/Nemo.

    Obligatory threesome/self-masturbation/orgy applicable.

  24. le nuage Said,

I bet nunally has some kind of Geass power when she opens her eyes (like Shaka in Saint Seya lol).
And so she could teleport herself or being “transparent” to avoid the blast.

PS : Just kill Nina damned !

    @ Haesslich

Although Suzaku could find another way, he is still under geass and as explained earlier, geass strips their will so even if he wants to find a better way, the geass will force him to find the easiest way.

    To Bewz:

Damn I hope your wrong, not your fault as I was in a semi-dazed state and just wondering “why is there just a ‘show’ icon, probably a spoiler pertaining to today’s ep that I’ve already watched.” So I clicked it.

Well, each episode always has a new shocking, unexpected moment so I suppose knowing one won’t matter, of course I still find that very hard to believe and even if its true, I look forward to the episode that would explain it all as I can’t put the two together.

Anyways, I’m finally gonna get the insane Lelouch I’ve wanted. War can bring out the worst in people, now Lelouch will uncaringly slaughter all in his path for revenge.

Suzaku (and hopefully Nina), you are both so f***ed.

And I’m still saying Anya is Euphie.

As for the wing thing, I think believe it could be like this:

Wings on their back= dead/going to die
Ruined statue wings in the background= Not going to die

    Just a theory.

  36. liathgirl Said,

    August 13, 2008 @ 7:44 pm

Okay, I soooo did not see that coming! Even from a mile away, I don’t think anyone can see that coming. Oh By-the-by, technically C.C. is dead, in a sense she’s dead because she’s no longer the C.C we’ve come to know and love. Now she’s slave-C.C or slave-Chan as I think she should be referred to.

Suzaku escapes death but how sure are we that he’ll last for much longer? I don’t think Lelou was ready to lose Nunnally. He’ll probably go insane now, although when you think about it the killing comes full circle. Lelou killed Suzaku’s love, and now Suzaku’s killed Lelou’s only reason to live. Things can only go up from here! I think . . . maybe I’m wrong, but things certainly CAN’T get any worse now can they?

  37. Nekonron Said,

    August 14, 2008 @ 12:08 am

I’m with the idea that Anya is the real Nunnally XD

Either that or Nunnally was saved by some hidden super power from either herself or the super meido.

I wouldn’t be too sure about how things couldn’t get any worse. They’ve managed to outdone Euphie’s massacre and death, and this is Code Geass and Sunrise we’re talking about. They can definitely screw it up more and probably will, intentionally or otherwise.
