ALL HAIL BRITTANIA!!!!
Woo~ a really satisfying episode this week. It’s been a while since I’ve been this fired up while watching Geass.
The episode begins with the sudden disappearence of Charles, throwing the upper ranks of Brittania in to turmoil, as they struggle to deal with the problem of Zero.
Taking the chance of his disappearance, Lelouch debates on whether to assure Nunnally safety or proceed with his plans. He toys around with C.C. unintentionally, who’s completely reverted back to her original memories, when Jeremiah informs him about Cornelia’s capture. He pays her a visit and answers Cornelia question of what he wants to do with his Geass power.
It’s bondage time!
Back at Japan, Kallen decides to give Suzaku many pieces of her mind concerning his earlier attempt to drug her with Refrain. Safe to say, this was the SINGLE MOST SATISFYING SCENE in the series so far. Bastard surely deserved that.
“…is for trying to drug me.”
“And this is for selling out Lelouch and Nunnally…”
“…while acting out all innocent..”
“…proclaiming to be a hero of justice…”
“…when you’re just an emo little kid…”
“…who thinks he’s always right!”
Lelouch and Xingke hold a press conference to announce the setting up of the United Federation of Nations (U.F.N), endorsed by Kaguya and Tianzi. Afterwards, we’re treated to a heartwarming scene of C.C. getting reintroduced to pizza by Lelouch, and it’s even the sausage-crusted type too. Looks like Pizza Hut’s power is still strong in the series.
Compressing a bit of random plot developments, Suzaku finds out that Anya was geass’ed by the Emperor, Knight of One and Ten also arrive in Area 11 in response to Zero’s announcement, bringing a whole troop of elites lead by Schneizel himself. Upgrades were made to Lancelot, seemingly inspired from Lloyd’s playing around with the Guren, and Nina wants to let Suzaku use her newly-developed weapon, Freya.
The ceremony to announce the UFN is in full-swing, broadcasted world wide. A surprising announcement is made during the event, where the UFN nations decide to dismantle all military power and outsource their defenses to the Black Knights instead. Then Kaguya announces the UFN’s first request to the Black Knights, which is to liberate Japan, agreed unanimously.
The ceremony is disrupted by Charles, hijacking the television streams. He bluntly states that Zero has merely divided the world to those who are in Brittania and those who are not, challenging Zero outright to war. Lelouch is surprised at Charles’ return, and starts to worry about Nunnally’s safety… but wonders how to rescue her from the clutches of his father. A worried C.C. tries to serve Lelouch some pizza, but he throws the plate back at her instead.
C.C. cuts her hand on the fragments, and Lelouch realizes his folly. He takes a look at her wound, and C.C. replies it’s a lot more better than what she usually has to endure. Lelouch asks what would she want to comfort her in times of pain, and C.C. answers she would want a friend to share it. This inspires Lelouch about something, and he decides to call Suzaku directly.
Lelouch tries to act normal, but Suzaku cuts to the point and asks if he’s Zero. Lelouch confesses and desperately pleads Suzaku to help him protect Nunally for him. Suzaku agrees to it, but he sets a condition for him, that Lelouch must come and meet him alone at the Kururugi Shrine.
Well, definitely a pretty good episode on both fronts. Suzaku getting his just desserts from Kallen was satisfying, while Lelouch continues to show his biggest weakness of worrying too much about Nunnally’s well-being, to the point of asking Suzaku to help him back. Oh, I can already see the knife in the back.
… for the final showdown.
On the UFN, it was pretty shocking for them to announce the disarmament of all their member countries, and even more LOL when they revealed that they’ll concentrate all their military power under the Black Knights. In retrospect, this was quite a good decision on Lelouch’s part, as he’s freed of the weight to administer all his newly acquired lands, and at the same time, giving him control of all the military power and external relations of the UFN. No doubt a brilliant but sly move on his part.
There’s also some surprising developments in the Brittanian side. Anya seems to have been continuously geass’ed by Charles, and I really wonder for what reason why she was subject to it. Two new Knights are introduced. Ten is a right bastard, in a more outright evil way, while One seems to be pretty rational and loyal. Guilford also seems to have been informed about Cornelia’s situation as well, by Jeremiah, and I wonder what he’ll do about it. I kinda lol’ed when his “Bishie Rangers” were given a second of screen time this week though. I thought they were all dead. As for Nina, she continues to be pretty much as batshit insane as she can while maintaining a facade of sanity.
LOL, so Guilford’s harem is still around.
As for C.C., ah damn, she’s just so moeeeeeeeeeee~ She really didn’t get much screentime this week, but I’m satisfied. I wonder why does Lelouch keep her in those clothes still, I guess he must really like them. I wonder if we’ll be given a meido-fuku C.C. before the end of this season?
