Code Geass R2

Woo~ a really satisfying episode this week. It’s been a while since I’ve been this fired up while watching Geass.

The episode begins with the sudden disappearence of Charles, throwing the upper ranks of Brittania in to turmoil, as they struggle to deal with the problem of Zero.

Taking the chance of his disappearance, Lelouch debates on whether to assure Nunnally safety or proceed with his plans. He toys around with C.C. unintentionally, who’s completely reverted back to her original memories, when Jeremiah informs him about Cornelia’s capture. He pays her a visit and answers Cornelia question of what he wants to do with his Geass power.

It’s bondage time!

Back at Japan, Kallen decides to give Suzaku many pieces of her mind concerning his earlier attempt to drug her with Refrain. Safe to say, this was the SINGLE MOST SATISFYING SCENE in the series so far. Bastard surely deserved that.

Lelouch and Xingke hold a press conference to announce the setting up of the United Federation of Nations (U.F.N), endorsed by Kaguya and Tianzi. Afterwards, we’re treated to a heartwarming scene of C.C. getting reintroduced to pizza by Lelouch, and it’s even the sausage-crusted type too. Looks like Pizza Hut’s power is still strong in the series.

Compressing a bit of random plot developments, Suzaku finds out that Anya was geass’ed by the Emperor, Knight of One and Ten also arrive in Area 11 in response to Zero’s announcement, bringing a whole troop of elites lead by Schneizel himself. Upgrades were made to Lancelot, seemingly inspired from Lloyd’s playing around with the Guren, and Nina wants to let Suzaku use her newly-developed weapon, Freya.

The ceremony to announce the UFN is in full-swing, broadcasted world wide. A surprising announcement is made during the event, where the UFN nations decide to dismantle all military power and outsource their defenses to the Black Knights instead. Then Kaguya announces the UFN’s first request to the Black Knights, which is to liberate Japan, agreed unanimously.

The ceremony is disrupted by Charles, hijacking the television streams. He bluntly states that Zero has merely divided the world to those who are in Brittania and those who are not, challenging Zero outright to war. Lelouch is surprised at Charles’ return, and starts to worry about Nunnally’s safety… but wonders how to rescue her from the clutches of his father. A worried C.C. tries to serve Lelouch some pizza, but he throws the plate back at her instead.

C.C. cuts her hand on the fragments, and Lelouch realizes his folly. He takes a look at her wound, and C.C. replies it’s a lot more better than what she usually has to endure. Lelouch asks what would she want to comfort her in times of pain, and C.C. answers she would want a friend to share it. This inspires Lelouch about something, and he decides to call Suzaku directly.

Lelouch tries to act normal, but Suzaku cuts to the point and asks if he’s Zero. Lelouch confesses and desperately pleads Suzaku to help him protect Nunally for him. Suzaku agrees to it, but he sets a condition for him, that Lelouch must come and meet him alone at the Kururugi Shrine.

Well, definitely a pretty good episode on both fronts. Suzaku getting his just desserts from Kallen was satisfying, while Lelouch continues to show his biggest weakness of worrying too much about Nunnally’s well-being, to the point of asking Suzaku to help him back. Oh, I can already see the knife in the back.

Code Geass R2

It’s time…

Code Geass R2

… for the final showdown.

On the UFN, it was pretty shocking for them to announce the disarmament of all their member countries, and even more LOL when they revealed that they’ll concentrate all their military power under the Black Knights. In retrospect, this was quite a good decision on Lelouch’s part, as he’s freed of the weight to administer all his newly acquired lands, and at the same time, giving him control of all the military power and external relations of the UFN. No doubt a brilliant but sly move on his part.

There’s also some surprising developments in the Brittanian side. Anya seems to have been continuously geass’ed by Charles, and I really wonder for what reason why she was subject to it. Two new Knights are introduced. Ten is a right bastard, in a more outright evil way, while One seems to be pretty rational and loyal. Guilford also seems to have been informed about Cornelia’s situation as well, by Jeremiah, and I wonder what he’ll do about it. I kinda lol’ed when his “Bishie Rangers” were given a second of screen time this week though. I thought they were all dead. As for Nina, she continues to be pretty much as batshit insane as she can while maintaining a facade of sanity.

Code Geass R2

LOL, so Guilford’s harem is still around.

As for C.C., ah damn, she’s just so moeeeeeeeeeee~ She really didn’t get much screentime this week, but I’m satisfied. I wonder why does Lelouch keep her in those clothes still, I guess he must really like them. I wonder if we’ll be given a meido-fuku C.C. before the end of this season?

GO KALLEN WHOOOOOO! I want a wallpaper of her punching Suzaku~ :D

    And I want C.C. to get her memories back. I’ve been pressured into shipping Lulu/C.C., so if C.C. never remembers him I think I’ll cry ^_^;;;

So Lulu gets captured again, Freya is used to nuke part of Area 11 and kills millions of Japanese, Suzaku is played as a stooge and gets horrified by the consequences of his killing millions of his own countrymen… and then everyone dies.

    Sounds good to me.

Am I the only one creeped out by the ‘oh so cheery’ prediction Lloyd made concerning Nina?
I mean, the guy suddenly turned ‘serious’. This might be a turning point for him, as it seems to me that he doesn’t condone the use of ‘Freya’, especially involving one of his creations.
Maybe he’ll either change sides or switch the wires controlling Nina’s brainchild.

As for Mr. Hero’s demands for the next episode, it’s pretty obvious he’ll try to arrest ‘Zero’, thereby staunching the war effort and making everything good and happy again.
In a way that may be the only sure way to prevent massive destruction in the short-term from his point of view, but then, Lelouch’s plans are never short-termed, so why should it be different this time?

Moe-CC is actually kind of annoying…or maybe it’s the fact that we’re getting more and more scenes of Lulu being…caring…I don’t think Suzaku is going to capture Lulu judging from his ‘saintly’ apology to Kallen and how he didn’t want to drop to Zero’s level, blah blah etc. I thinks it’s much more likely that he wants to find out the truth behind Euphie’s death, since it seems he can’t fathom why Lulu would really do something like that. That’s my take on it anyways.

I hate how the writers have been making Suzaku look more and more ‘heroic’. It makes me almost want to believe he’ll be on Zero’s side in the end. But at least Kallen got to beat him up ^^ Lloyd definitely needs more screentime to be devious, his character has been rather vague this whole time. I hope Lloyd & Laksharta actually get to have a face to face conversation eventually.

Kallen beating the crap out of Suzaku was so damn awesome. It has all the elements of an awesome scenes – it happens out of nowhere, it’s justified, it has Suzaku getting the crap beaten out of him, it has Kallen beating the crap out of someone and it has a yellow dress.

It’s amazing how Guilford’s first reaction upon hearing Jeremiah’s voice is “O… orange?” I mean, it’s a completely serious scene and the man can’t recall Jeremiah’s first name?

Ah, Milley is enjoying her job. Perhaps a bit too much, methinks. COSTUMES IN WEATHER? WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO?

Tamaki is drunk. Tamaki is useless. Thus, drunk people are useless. This conclusion has been brought to you via logic and philosophy.

Sweet of Lelouch to offer C.C. pizza in an attempt to bring back her memories. And C.C. re-experiencing pizza nearly gave me an orgasm. Dominatrix C.C. is fine, but amnesia C.C. is just as awesome and much more cuter. I mean, taking Lelouch’s joke literally and undressing? Being all timid and apologizing every other moment? Seeing Lelouch off? Oh, C.C. is a barrel of awesomeness, cuteness and moe in one.

And a sausage crust pizza? Holy fuck, does that kind of shit even exist? I mean, seriously, is Pizza Hut trying to kill its consumers? FUCKING SAUSAGES IN A FUCKING CRUST ON A FUCKING PIZZA FROM PIZZA FUCKING HUT? I despair at this world in which the creation of a sausage crust pizza is seen as a regular occurrence!

@Magnius: Sausage-crust pizza is actually a valid choice on our menu here in Malaysia.. They’ve had a few variations of it, from having a single long sausage looped inside the crust, to the current one which you’ve seen in the episode.

In fact, you can even see it here:

Yeah’s it’s pretty weird, but local people somehow love all these weird variations on pizza a lot.

@Digi: I’m so gonna LOL if that’s the case.

    @Jobrill: Same to yours too.

@evetenshi: Despite their efforts, we all know who he really is. We’ll see how the show goes about next week.

Okay, I don’t want a wallpaper of Kallen hitting Suzaku, I want a continuous loop where all she does is hit him.
That aside, THIS EPISODE PWNED!!!! Awesome! It’s so intense – it’s not gay! Dibs for Anya being the one who killed Lelouch’s mother! She can’t be Euphy because Euphy wasn’t sexy in those half-outfits she sometimes wore. Anya’s a sexy beast!
Knight of 10 is crazy . . . just mentioning it, he’s nuts.
Knight of 1 is sorta kinda awesome.
    Orange probably told whats-his-face about Zero holding whats-her-name . . . she’s not important!
Suzaku needs to help Lelouch, that was such a touching speech C.C. gave to Lelou. Although he’s probably walking right into a trap I hope that Suzaku doesn’t hurt Lelou. It’s going to be gay, if Suzaku tries to attack Lelou when Lelou has ZERO skills with confrontations. Besides that, Suzaku is already Geassed . . . damns it! Next episode is going to be the BEST EVER!!! I hope!!!

Wow, when C.C. mentioned a friend, Lelouch remembers Suzaku!? Ouch, I can still feel the sonic boom from the screams of millions of fangirls waiting for a Comiket R-18 version of that one. Weeeeell… can’t blame him; Shirley’s dead, Milley’s a reporter, and Rivalz… well… is Rivalz.

Anyways, can’t wait for next week’s episode too.

    Anya is Marianne’s clone.
    Lelouch is Charles’ clone.

I think it’s just he uses his geass a lot. Every time something happens that doesn’t fit with his idea of the truth, he mind-wipes everyone and does a retake. That’s how he can get away with saying, “I never lie.”

    >>> Nagisa dies.

No, not her. It’s Toudou who’s living on borrowed time now. I mean, what was she thinking? “I want to confess to you. But I’ll wait until after you go off to fight an epic battle with a high likelihood of being fatally injured.” You idiot; have you learned nothing from anime?

Does anyone else find it worrying that Lelouch still feels perfectly comfortable cruising around most likely non-immortal C.C. with his permanent, uncontrollable Geass eye exposed? I sense a possible “Oh Shit!” moment coming sometime down the road. Better hope he has Orange-kun on speed dial or things could get pretty messy. Or he might tell her to “Stay in this room and eat pizza” and C.C. will be back to normal. Just throwing this out to a few of these blog reviews to see what people say.

I’m betting my money on that Lulu dies(highly probable, considering his friends and allies are dying one by one) after killing the whole royal family, throwing himself in front of Nunnaly taking Rolo’s bullet of madness. Leaving only Nunnaly as heir to the throne as empress and Suzaku as her knight, oh wouldn’t that be fun? :P

And I can’t stop believing this is all one big scam from the emperor (who knows Marianne might be a part of it, dead or alive) to make Lulu the future emperor, but hey thats just me.
